How to apply for a Rotary Foundation District Grant in District 9600 The attached application form is a protected Word document. It can be printed and completed in handwriting then scanned and emailed, or it can be completed by typing in the blank boxes (they will expand to accommodate your text), save, then email to the District 9600 Foundation Grants Chair. About District Grants 1. Towards the end of each year the District 9600 TRF Committee can apply to TRF (The Rotary Foundation) for up to 50% of the following year's District Designated Fund to be administered locally to support small club projects. Our application must list the club projects we intend to support. 2. Therefore each year between November and March we invite clubs to apply for a District Grant. All applications received will be considered by the District 9600 TRF Committee by the end of March. Clubs will be notified of the Committee's decision promptly by email. 3. Clubs must have been represented at the annual Rotary Foundation Grants Seminar (early July) and have completed a Memorandum of Understanding. 4. The project must not commence before approval is received. 5. Projects should address at least one of the TRF Areas of Focus. 6. The value of the project must be less than $30,000 (larger projects must use a Global Grant). 7. Projects can be local or international. 8. Clubs pay 100% of project costs. The District Grant will be a maximum of 50% of the club's cash outlay and will be paid on a reimbursement basis. Funds will be available from early in the Rotary year following application approval. 9. To claim payment the project must be completed by the end of April in the year following approval, and a concise report must be provided, preferably with a photograph or two, together with receipts to substantiate expenditure, to the District 9600 Grants Committee Chair. Example: A project to provide furniture and equipment for disadvantaged students at a school in Gympie will cost $6,000. In January the club applies for a District Grant of $2,500 as the club is able to contribute $3,500. Approval is received by May and the project commences. The club completes the project in September, provides a report with receipts confirming expenditure and a few days later receives payment by EFT of a maximum of the approved amount or 50% of actual club expenditure, whichever is less. 11
