For employees who remain under the Traditional Medical Plan The Flexible Spending Account (FSA) is a method of paying for medical, dental and vision expenses with pre tax dollars, however there are details that need to be considered Use it or Lose it you may rollover up to $500 of any unused balance in your account from year to year. Any unused amount in excess of $500 is forfeited Your election is irrevocable you may not change or cancel your election without a qualifying event The pre tax contribution for Healthcare is limited to $2,550 Dependent Care: Maximum election of $5,000 per household ($2,500 if married & filing separate) Prepared by: HJ Spier 31

The Elect Rx Personal Prescription Drug Importation Option The Elect Rx Personal Importation Program has proven to be a valuable benefit for plan members who need to take a brand drug as part of a medication regimen. o Traditional plan members benefit by the $0 Co Pay o HD plan members benefit by prices of brand drugs that are 40% to 75% cheaper o While Elect Rx expenses count towards the HDHP deductible, they are NOT considered eligible HSA expenses. Legal Requirements of HSA s Participant must only be enrolled in an HSA qualified health plan Generally a participant cannot be covered by a Flexible Spending Account (FSA). (Neither the employee nor the spouse can have an FSA) Participant cannot be enrolled in Medicaid or Tricare Once enrolled in Medicare, you are no longer eligible to deposit new money into an HSA Distributions for non qualified expenses are taxable and subject to a 20% tax penalty.
