Call for Proposals The Rensselaer County Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) is thrilled to announce a call for workshop proposals for its eighth annual conference Joining Forces: Reducing and Responding to Sexual Assault Across Disciplines on Thursday, January 18 th, 2018 at Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY. Proposals must be submitted by Friday, July 7 th, 2017 to receive consideration. Applicants will receive notice of the status of their proposal by Friday, August 4 th, 2017. Conference Background The Rensselaer County SART offers its eighth annual training opportunity for professionals who work to reduce sexual assault, and/or work with sexual assault victims/survivors. This unique conference offers the opportunity for individuals from various disciplines, who often work on complex cases together, to train alongside one another. We anticipate that this conference will draw attendees from throughout New York State who represent the victim services, law enforcement, healthcare, higher education, mental health, and criminal justice fields. Students are also welcome at this training. Workshop Proposal Please complete this form in its entirety, and send it, along with a current CV/resume for each presenter to Lindsey.Crusan@sphp.com. Proposals received after the deadline of Friday, July 7 th, 2017 will not be considered. If you would like to submit multiple proposals, you are welcome to do so, but you must complete a separate form for each proposal. While this conference is organized by the Rensselaer County SART and focuses on the response to and reduction of sexual violence, proposals on related topics, including self-care, intimate partner violence, mental health, substance abuse, human trafficking, sex offender management/treatment, stalking, death notification, crime victim issues on college campuses, etc. are welcome and will be considered. We also encourage you to submit proposals for audiences at varied levels of experience (beginner, intermediate, advanced). You will be notified by Friday, August 4 th, 2017 regarding the status of your proposal. Should your workshop be selected, you and your co-presenters will be offered attendance at the conference at no cost.
