career opportunity Join our medical team and enjoy Collegiality, Autonomy & Teaching! PHYSICIANS NEEDED Scenic Family Medical Group We are seeking physicians to join our practice and serve in our public health clinics. JOIN A GREAT TEAM Scenic Faculty Medical Group (SFMG) is a great team of over 20 physicians committed to providing excellent medical care to the underserved, while also teaching residents. Practices include teaching family practice residents, inpatient care, seeing a diverse patient population and providing primary outpatient care services. Our physicians provide primary care services for the County of Stanislaus six health clinics, and serve only MediCal (MediCare/MediCaid) eligible patients, through two plans: Health Net and Health Plan of San Joaquin. In addition, our physicians are the primary care faculty to the Valley Consortium for Medical Education for its Family Medicine residency. Join our team and enjoy being part of a great practice where you can enjoy collegiality, autonomy, and teaching our future medical practitioners. Join us and live in beautiful Stanislaus County a great place to work, live and play! WHAT OUR PHYSICIANS SAY The camaraderie is the best thing about the group! We like the fact that we run our own group. Lots of opportunity for niche work. Leadership, community service and opportunity for professional development.

THE ORGANIZATION / CLINICS / CULTURE Scenic Faculty Medical Group is located in Modesto, a mid-sized familyoriented city in central California, close to San Francisco, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite and Sacramento. SFMG, in business since 1983, contracts with the County of Stanislaus to be the exclusive provider of primary care physicians for its six public health clinics (CLICK HERE for clinic location details), and also contracts with the Valley Consortium for Medical Education to be the primary faculty for its Family Medicine residency. The doctors are assigned to one primary clinic and develop their own panel of patients; they do not float from clinic to clinic. The County owns the clinics, hires all the support staff and each clinic has a County-employed clinic nurse manager, and an SFMG Clinic Chief, who work together to resolve any operational issues. This model allows our physicians to provide focused clinical and teaching services, without the headaches of managing the day-to-day practice operations, such as billing, hiring, employee relations, purchasing, etc. CLINIC LOCATION IMMEDIATE NEEDS: F McHenry Medical Office (2 practitioners) F Paradise Road Medical Office (2 practitioners) F Hughson Medical Office (smaller facility 1 practitioner) F Turlock Medical Office (1 practitioner) F Ceres Medical Office (1 practitioner) PRACTITIONERS WE NEED 7 PHYSICIANS: F Family medicine practitioners OB optional F Obstetricians F Pediatricians Our physicians have a high level of autonomy and trust, allowing individual interests to be developed. This also includes the ability to work more or less, depending on individual income desires and needs, which also allows for greater work/life balance. In addition, the opportunity to teach residents breaks the routine of clinic work, allows for continued professional growth, and generates a pipeline of physicians for the valley and our medical group. Physicians will be responsible for building their practice, however all of our clinics currently have patient waiting lists and are not accepting new patients.

BENEFITS OF JOINING SCENIC FACULTY MEDICAL GROUP F The opportunity to provide care for the underserved population of Stanislaus County. F The ability to care for a diverse patient population. F Faculty appointments through UC Davis. F Teaching FP residents at the Family Practice Center. F Inpatient care involvement. F Fully supported call schedule. F Access to group health and dental plans. F Membership offers profit sharing/401k plan. F Good balance of family and work responsibilities. F Group autonomy, with the ability to pursue special interests. OUR PHYSICIANS ARE TEACHERS & MENTORS Our physicians often choose our group because we offer the opportunity to teach family medicine residents, in both the clinic and outpatient setting. Great rewards come from making a contribution to well-trained primary care doctors in our community. Most SFMG physicians teach at least one half day per week in the residency clinic, or various assignments in inpatient medicine and labor and delivery, where they teach procedures as well as provide important feedback about clinical thinking, documentation, and physical exams. The chance to impact eager learners with knowledge and experience adds inspiration and variety to our physicians weeks. We teach evidence-based medicine and current practice guidelines, keeping up to date in our own practices as well. Faculty and residents also interact at residency and social events, providing the opportunity for mentorship.

IDEAL CANDIDATES Our ideal candidates will be exceptional practitioners and team players, with excellent communication skills and an interest in serving and caring for the underserved population in our community. Our physicians have compassion for those they serve as well as an interest and passion for teaching our future physicians. Physicians are owners of the Group and will take a leadership role in controlling the group s future. Although most of the operational work is managed by County staff, there is a need for our physicians to be computer literate and good with details to complete daily reports, process referrals, etc. Ideal candidates will function effectively in a flexible, autonomous environment with the ability to set and work their own practice and teaching schedules. In addition, you will have the educational background, license(s) and experience as identified below: EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS: Education/Experience F Possession of a valid Physician s and Surgeon s license issued by the California Medical Board or able to acquire California Status by appointment; AND F Board Certified or eligibility to be Board Certified; AND F Possess and maintain a valid California Driver s License upon appointment.

STANISLAUS COUNTY & OUR COMMUNITY The County s vision is to be the Best County in America. Stanislaus County is in the heart of everything it is located in Central California close to San Francisco Bay Area, Silicon Valley, Sacramento, the Sierra Nevada Mountains and California s Central Coast. With approximately 4,100 county staff and 532,000 people calling this area home, our community reflects a region rich in diversity with a strong sense of community. The County has a 2016/17 fiscal budget of $1.1 billion. The City of Modesto is the seat of the County which has a mild climate, affordable California living, home to a vibrant arts community and the world-class Gallo Center for the Performing Arts. The area is recognized internationally for agricultural innovation and is home to California State University, Stanislaus, Modesto Junior College and other educational institutions.

WORK, PAY & BONUS STRUCTURE Pay for the physicians starts with a guaranteed 12 month salary of $216,000. In addition there is a $20,000 sign on bonus (paid over three years). The salary is guaranteed by the local Tenet hospital, Doctors Medical Center. After the first 12 months the doctor is paid on productivity the amount the physician earns is based on the number of patients seen, teaching hours worked, hospital billings received and any other work performed. Outside of public health clinic and teaching, other work available includes: urgent care shifts, chart review for local hospice organizations, teaching seminars, etc. Partnership in SFMG requires $2,500 to purchase 10 shares; these shares do not change in value and if a physician leaves they sell the shares back to SFMG for the same amount. There are no senior partners, everyone in the group has an equal voice and equal pay, and pay is performance based. Benefits F $20,000/yr. for medical, dental and vision insurance F Multiple plans: Blue Cross, Sutter Health, Kaiser F Profit-sharing/401k retirement plan (after year one): 15% of earnings put in plan, vested immediately, with the flexibility to add to the 401k F 6 weeks vacation (4 weeks the first year) and 1 week CME sector employment.
