DHS SCHOLARSHIP LISTING DICKINSON SCHAFER BUILDERS ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP: Applicants must complete the application as well as provide a copy of their high school transcript, proof of enrollment in a college/university, and a business resume (including work experience, education, and school/community involvement). Deadline: May 18, 2018 Horatio Alger Association Career and Technical Education Scholarship Seniors who are enrolling in Career and Technical Education programs for Fall 2018 are eligible to apply for the Horatio Alger Association Career & Technical Scholarship Program. The Association will award 1020 scholarships in 2018. The scholarship awards will vary with the maximum amount of $2,500 depending on the cost of the program and need of the student. They don t just hear about the government process-they are the process. Holders who meet the following qualifications and submit a completed application: Applicant must have been supervised by a Juvenile Court Officer within the North Dakota Juvenile Court at some point in childhood and successfully completed probation. Applicant must have a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher or successfully completed G.E.D. program. The first 100 scholarship applicants who finish their studying and take the FAA Aeronautical Knowledge Test will also have their FAA test fee ($150) covered. Generation Ali Global Citizenship Scholarship The Generation Ali Global Citizenship Scholarship Program, sponsored by The Muhammad Ali Center, is offering scholarships inspired by Muhammad Ali s six core principles: Confidence, Conviction, Dedication, Giving, Respect, and Spirituality. This scholarship program encourages the pursuit of greatness through education. The program is open to high school seniors or graduates or post-secondary students. Students outside the United States must be in their final year of upper or higher secondary school or be a current undergraduate student attending school in the United States. SHEET METAL WORKER APPRENTICESHIP Interested seniors must meet the physical requirements to perform the work of the trade, and may be subject to a medical examination on acceptance into the program and prior to being employed. BOILERMAKERS APPRENTICESHIP The Great Lakes Area Boilermakers Apprenticeship Program applications are being accepted in a number of locations. The third Tuesday of every month from 9:00AM to 11:00AM applications are being accepted at Local #647, 3400 42nd Street, NW, Mandan, ND 58554. Contact any counselor for other dates and locations in Fargo, South Dakota and Minnesota. Applicants who have a welding certification or welding training qualifications will have priority selection over applicants with no welding qualifications. Applicants must provide a copy and proof of welding certification or welding training qualification at the time of application. NDSCS-Educating the Electrical Industry This year our department has about $50,000 in scholarships for those interested in pursuing a career in the electrical industry. In addition, they have $10,000 in available scholarships thru STEMS. This would be for those students interested in a career in automation/robotics.
