Dog Days Of Summer First Annual Shelby Dog Show!! All family and staff are encouraged to bring in their own dogs to participate in the dog show!! When: Wednesday, 25th Time: 2:30pm Where: Main Dining Room We will have you fill out a little info about your dog and have you walk the run way with them!! Shelby Towne Post Employee of the Month Melissa was born in Warren, Michigan along with three brothers, one that is her twin! She is currently married to her husband Jack and they have two daughters, Ella who is 10 and Autumn who is 1 ½ years old. They also have a crazy golden retriever named Lola and a cocker spaniel named Pixie. In her free time, she enjoys going up to their house up north and boating or snowmobiling with the family! Melissa attended Oakland for her Bachelors in Social work and then Wayne State University for her Masters in Social Work. Before she was a social worker, she was a Manager at a Bank. She started her Social Work career at Shelby in May 2015. What she loves most about working here is all the people she works with every day. Everyone from each discipline is so wonderful and always willing to help whenever asked! Thank you Melissa, for your dedication & loyalty to Shelby s residents, family and staff! This meeting is for all residents that are in our facility, including those in rehabilitation and skilled nursing care! The resident council meeting is a time for residents to voice their opinions about nursing, dietary, maintenance, housekeeping/laundry, activities, social services, resident rights and grievance procedures. We also discuss what the facility can do to enhance your quality of life and where you can go to review the current Department of Health Services survey results.

Red Velvet Cup Cakes Shelby Towne Post Ingredients: 1 box of red velvet cake mix 3 eggs 1/3 cup oil 1 cup milk 1/2 cup sour cream 3 tsp vanilla extract 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese 1 cup powered sugar 1 pink heavy whipping cream Fresh blueberries Directions: Preheat oven to 350F. Line two cupcake pans with paper liners Combine cake mix, eggs, oil, milk, sour cream, 2 teaspoons vanilla into a large bowl stirring until smooth Pour batter into each liner, filling 3/4 full Bake 15-20 minutes and let cool Combine cream, cheese and powered sugar in bowl and mix until smooth Add 1 teaspoon vanilla and cream, whip until stiff peaks form Top cupcakes with frosting and blueberries. Makes 2 dozen MARK YOUR CALENDARS!! Annual rummage sale and picnic coming Friday, August 17th!! If you would like to donates items to be sold, please give them to the recreation department by August 15th Afternoon at the Movies Enjoy a movie in the comfort of your own room! Movies will be shown on Channel 5. Everyday at 2:00pm and Monday-Friday at 6:00pm
