Chosen by the Scholarship FENWICK FIREFIGHTERS ASSOCIATION AWARD Awarded to a deserving graduate who is pursuing post-secondary education in any emergency services. Chosen by the FENWICK LIONS CLUB SCHOLARSHIP Awarded by the Fabulous Fenwick Lions, in memory of Meryl Berry, to a graduating male student proceeding to post-secondary studies in the sciences. High achievement in the Sciences and contribution to the school are the requirements. Chosen by the FONTHILL AND DISTRICT KINSMEN CLUB SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a student who shows leadership in band, student council, or athletics or who makes an outstanding contribution to community service. The recipient must have a 75% average in his/her final year, must have attended Crossley for at least two years. By application only. FONTHILL LIONS CLUB AWARD Awarded to a graduating male who, on the basis of diligence and sincerity of effort, has elected to pursue one of the trades. Chosen by the FONTHILL-SINGER S CORNERS WOMEN S INSTITUTE AWARD Awarded to a graduating student for sincerity of effort, who is pursuing further education in the field of Family Studies, Horticulture or Agriculture at a recognized college or university in the future. Chosen by the FONTHILL SOBEY S AWARD Awarded to one female and male graduate who is planning to work or study and has shown a positive contribution to the community. Chosen by the

GEORGE T. BOSMA MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a deserving student who is proceeding to university. The scholarship recipient shall display the character of our friend George. This is an individual with a strong work ethic who has succeeded in the face of adversity through perseverance. The recipient shall be a community minded individual who displays strong school spirit and a person who takes pride in achieving his/her academic goals. Chosen by the GOVERNOR GENERAL S ACADEMIC MEDAL A Bronze medal is awarded to the student who achieves the highest average upon graduation from a secondary school. The average includes all grade 11 and grade 12 courses as listed on the student s official transcript regardless of the stream or the subjects chosen. All students are eligible for consideration upon graduation. HARLAND YOUNG MEMORIAL AWARD Awarded to a grade 12 student who has demonstrated a strong work ethic and determination. The successful candidate will be proceeding to either college, an apprenticeship or the world of work and must not have received any other major scholarship. Outstanding volunteerism has also been demonstrated. Chosen by the JODY STORTZ MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to the graduating student who has most benefitted in career direction after having had a co-operative education experience. Chosen by the Scholarship JOSTEN S GRADUATING ATHLETES OF THE YEAR AWARD Awarded to the graduating male and female athletes of the year. JOYCE EMERSON MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to the E. L. Crossley student who received high first class honours in French, and who will pursue a course in an institute of higher learning. Chosen by the KAREN MOFFATT MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Donated by friends in memory of Karen Moffatt, a former student at E. L. Crossley Secondary School. The scholarship is awarded to a student who is proceeding to postsecondary studies and who has contributed to the extra-curricular life of the school. Chosen by the LAING SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a graduating student on the basis of general proficiency in academic achievements, particularly in Chemistry, and for contribution to the extra-curricular life of the school. HANEY MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to four students who, in the opinion of the majority of teachers of the school have excelled in academic, scholastic, or other school activities, and who plan to attend an institute of higher learning. They must not have received, nor are eligible to receive any major scholarship. Chosen by the MAPLEVIEW CHARITIES EDUCATION To deserving graduates proceeding to post-secondary education who were always striving to improve their lives and have contributed to the greater community. Chosen by the MARILEE S AWARD Awarded to a deserving female graduate who is planning to study fashion or related business and has shown a commitment to her classmates. Chosen by the Scholarship NIAGARA PENINSULA AMATEUR RADIO CLUB TECH ACHIEVEMENT AWARD Awarded to a graduating E.L. Crossley student proceeding to post-secondary studies or apprenticeship in a technical field. The recipient should demonstrate interest in radio communications or the electronic or electrical fields. Chosen by the Scholarship NIAGARA PENINSULA ENERGY STUDENT AWARD Awarded to a student that has accepted and entering in a field of study that is in line with Niagara Peninsula Inc. business at college or university. Chosen by the ONTARIO POWER AUTHORITY AWARD Awarded to a graduate who has completed and hence earned the Red Seal for the Energy SHSM. Chosen by the ONTARIO PRINCIPALS COUNCIL STUDENT RECOGNITION AWARD Awarded to a student who makes a positive contribution to the school. Chosen by the Principal. OSSTF DISTRICT 22 BURSARY To assist a deserving student from each secondary school in District 22. The candidate will have demonstrated responsibility within the school, community, and workplace. Chosen by the PELHAM ART FESTIVAL SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a student who is proceeding to post-secondary studies and has displayed proficiency in art. Chosen by the

PELHAM HIGH ALUMNI SCHOLARSHIP The scholarship will be awarded annually to a student who has demonstrated an ability to maintain a minimum grade average of 75% while participating in inter-school athletics and other clubs and has thereby contributed to the overall school function and received a well-rounded education. Chosen by the Scholarship PELHAM PANTHERS BASKETBALL SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a student athlete who has been a positive role model and good all around student. Preference will be given to a student who has been in the Panthers organization at some point during their high school years. Recommended by the Phys Ed Department. PELHAM REFERRAL GROUP SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to the student who shows an entrepreneurial aptitude and wants to explore business in post secondary education. By application only. PHOENIX MASONIC LODGE BURSARY Awarded by the members of Phoenix Lodge, Fonthill, to a deserving student who is proceeding to post-secondary studies and has not received another award. Chosen by the PORT COLBORNE-WAINFLEET CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AWARD Awarded to a Wainfleet graduate for outstanding contribution to school and community, academic achievement in the business stream and furthering his/her education in business. Chosen by the PROM COMMITTEE SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a graduate who has a minimum B+ average, held a part-time job throughout grade 12, been involved in school activities and proceeding to postsecondary studies. The student should be looked on as friendly, respected and an active member of E. L. Crossley. Chosen by the Prom R. V. HOWARD SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to the graduate of E. L. Crossley Secondary School who has the highest standing in Mathematics in Years 3 and 4. ROTARY CLUB OF FONTHILL MEDALISTS AND SCHOLARSHIPS Awarded to two graduating interact members on the basis of excellent moral character, participation in school activities, and contribution to school life. The recipients should have those characteristics, abilities and interests which personify the Rotary motto Service above Self. By application only. ROYAL CANADIAN LEGION SCHOLARSHIP Awarded by the Talbot Trail Branch 613, Fonthill, to a graduating student proceeding to post-secondary studies. This SHSM student will have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their SHSM program according to their teachers and cooperative education employers. Chosen by the THE VOICE ANNIVERSARY SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to a graduating E. L. Crossley student proceeding to college or university and studying media (print or broadcast) or a related field, who has maintained a minimum B average in his/her graduating year, and has some involvement in the school or community beyond the required 40 hrs. of volunteer service. Chosen by the TOWN OF PELHAM SCHOLARSHIP (A) Awarded upon the recommendation of the Mathematics Department to an outstanding student who is proceeding to university. Chosen by the TOWN OF PELHAM SCHOLARSHIP (B) Awarded to a graduating student who has contributed to the affairs and life of the school while maintaining scholarly excellence and who plans to study in the field of Health Sciences. Chosen by the TOWNSHIP OF WAINFLEET SCHOLARSHIP Awarded to the graduating student from Wainfleet who has achieved the highest overall average. VALERIE CASTER HEALTH SCIENCE AWARD Awarded to a graduating student who has contributed significantly to the extracurricular life of Crossley and/or their communities and who have maintained academic excellence. This student plans to study in the field of Health Sciences at either college or university. Preference will be given to Wainfleet residents, but others are also encouraged to apply. VALERIE CASTER TECHNOLOGY AWARD Awarded to a graduating student who has shown an aptitude in a technology class while at Crossley, and who has chosen to pursue a post secondary program in one of the following areas: engineering, technology or the trades.
