KEY TASKS EXPECTED OUTCOMES Imaging in theatre, ICU & Gastro services at North Shore Hospital. Ensure that surgeons/clinicians receive optimal quality diagnostic images during their patient s surgery/operative procedure. Undertakes theatre imaging that is of a high quality standard. Images are transmitted and archived Patients and surgeons are provided with a quality service that is efficient and responsive to their needs. Ensure that theatre staff is fully informed of procedures and radiation safety is considered at all times. Effective communication and co-operation about radiology imaging is achieved within the radiology service and with internal and external customers Undertake radiological procedures The MIT produces high quality diagnostic images Provides an efficient and timely service Prepares and assists medical staff during special procedures. Works efficiently and co-operatively within the radiology multidisciplinary team. Look after patients comfort and welfare during their radiological procedure. Patients are satisfied with the quality of service. Page 2

Maintains competency and works effectively as part of the Multi Disciplinary Team Continuous Improvement Clinical safety standards are maintained Ensures QA monitoring is undertaken Participates and assists with change processes Participates and demonstrates a commitment to continuous quality improvement Assist in managing supplies and equipment Supplies to meet service needs are maintained and stored appropriately The department equipment quality control programme is maintained and up to date. Equipment issues are reported to the operations co-coordinator. Understanding of the PACS system Ability to produce high quality diagnostic with all the correct information in place. Ability to use escalation/contingency procedures in the event of issues or problems with PACS Statutory & Treaty of Waitangi obligations Ensures the professional and political integrity of WDHB by carrying out all functions in compliance of the Treaty of Waitangi and by demonstrating a serious commitment to keeping the treaty alive.
