From the Director's Desk Some FYI s to pass along. * New Medicare Cards are Coming!!! Cards will be mailed to ALL Medicare recipients starting in April 2018 and will mail until April 2019. No need to do anything as long as your address is current. If you need to update your address, visit social security website or stop by the office and we can help you. In an effort to protect your identity, your new card will have a number unique to you (no more social security numbers). All your benefits remain the same. Once you receive your new card, destroy the previous card. Only give your Medicare number to those providers you trust that work with Medicare on your behalf. These cards are FREE. If you are asked for money to get your card it is a SCAM! * Penn State Health is currently looking for participants to complete a community health needs assessment. Paper copies are available at the Mohler Center. I will email an online assessment in the coming weeks also. Senators Game & Senior Health Fair Thursday, April 19 12:00PM Mohler Center will provide transportation to enjoy a day at the ballpark. Tickets available on a first come basis. Bus will depart Mohler Center at 11:00 AM and return at approximately 3:00 PM. Cost is $5.00 and include transportation to and from Mohler Center and game tickets. Food is on your own. Theater: Behind the scenes! James Thomas, retired Dean of the School of Performing and Visual Arts at Gardner-Webb University is teaching a class about what goes into putting a theater show into production. This free 4 week class will meet on Tuesdays from 11:00 AM 12:00 PM starting May 8 at Mohler Center. 5/8: Organization of a theater 5/15: The Method of the Magic Moment: Script Analysis 5/22: The Method of the Magic Moment: Principles and Techniques of directing a play 5/29: Actor s Technique: remembering lines, training techniques, stage fright, warming up, audition, etc. Seating is limited. Mohler Travel Gettysburg Dine A Round Tuesday, June 5 History, food, & fun describes our day in Gettysburg. We depart Mohler Center at 7:00 AM with our first stop at Seminary Ridge Museum for coffee and pastries. This exhibit provides a powerful view of the battles first day. Next, we head to a bus tour of the Gettysburg Battlefield. Then we are off to Dobbin House, a National Registered Historic House, for a soup and sandwich buffet lunch. Next, we go to the Elizabeth Ann Seaton Shrine to learn about her remarkable life. Then we are off to the 9/11 Firefighters memorial to pay tribute to those first responders. Finally, we go to Hollabaugh Brothers for cider and dessert. This fruit farm and market has a buzzing bee industry. We will have time for shopping and exploring. We will arrive back home with full tummies and fabulous memories at 6:30PM Cost of this day is $115 and reservations are necessary by May 4. We head to Nederlander Theater (orchestra 1 seats) to enjoy this all time favorite movie come to life in the brand new musical. Approximate arrival back to Mohler Center is 10:00PM. Cost of the trip is $200 and reservations are needed by June 1. 7

Our goal is to ensure that older citizens can stay physically active, mentally stimulated, and independent for as long as possible. The Mohler Senior Center is an independent, non-profit agency, depending solely on private funding and endowments to operate. Although there is no formal dues structure, members are expected to contribute a donation of at least $75 per year.
