Branch meeting feedback survey was conducted as part of the continual improvement, feedback and suggestions to keep the branch meeting performance at the highest quality and satisfactory level. ITEM MEETING MINUTES ACTIONBY DUE DATE (if applicable) Peter Bohan welcomed all attendees of the Meeting and gave attendees a quick a. introduction, a venue safety briefing, inclusive of some other welfare arrangements. Peter Bohan & M. Reza requested the members and guests to share any potential career opportunities in the region of Qatar for the IOSH member and indeed many attendees shared openings publicly. Info Only - Peter & Reza introduced and welcomed the College of North Atlantic- Qatar (CAN-Q) young students who are studying the OHS Diploma program. Mehboob Reza ran through the planned agenda, and welcomed the two honorable presenters for the evening and requested all the attendees/member to sign in IOSH attendance register and complete the IOSH Qatar Branch Feedback Survey form for the continual improvements. Overview of the Presentation 1 By CAN-Q OHS Diploma Students presented a topic on Health, Welfare & Workplace Environment. 2. The purpose of Health, Welfare & Workplace Environment is to provide basic OSH requirements at work to the employees, and can be divided into four broad categories: the working environment, welfare facilities, workplace occupational safety and health management. Students presented very well and explained the significance of both in terms of complying with the law, and keeping the workforce safe from serious occupational safety & health risks/hazards. A very comprehensive case study of the workplace violence was presented to the attendees with the help of a valid references and source of data/information obtained. Info Only - Networking Break for the attendees- 3. The committee warmly welcomed the new and upgraded IOSH members in the region of Qatar. Committee carried out effective networking and a quick chat with the other attendees of the meeting. Info Only - 4. Overview of the Presentation 2 By Mr. George Sakellariou (Regional Operations Manager) presented a topic IRATA Rope Access & Rescue George has fifteen years of climbing and mountain rescue experience, taking on several roles in this time. He is currently an active member of both Hellenic Search and Rescue Association and Olympus Mountain Rescue Team and in 2017 he was officially appointed as an IRATA International Rope Access Assessor. Info Only - George enlightened that the rope access is quantifiably proven to be a safe form of access with the cost and the other time constraints benefits. It will stand up to comparison with any other means of access and prove as safe or safer. IRATA incident statistics collated over the years (2014-2016) shows an accident rates logged in terms of rope hours worked. George also stressed on the benefits that applies to procurement, installation, ongoing maintenance and testing and inspection rope access system. 5. Finally, Peter Bohan & Mehboob Reza thanked all the attendees for their attendance and the meeting was closed at 20:40 hrs. Info Only - Page 5of 7
