DEPUTIES OF THE MONTH Deputy Trevor Dismukes began with the office in 2013 and is assigned to Corrections. He has been honored with being named Corrections Deputy of the Month. During a recent random cell search, Deputy Dismukes went beyond the call of duty by crawling on his stomach to investigate a small cavity in the wall. This thorough search resulted in numerous illegal items being confiscated. Lieutenant Darryl Michelli was initially assigned to Corrections in 1992. He later transferred to Scotlandville and Kleinpeter Substations. In 2006 he was assigned to the Burglary Division. Lieutenant Michelli is very experienced and diligent regarding interviews and interrogations that he conducts. He is a great team player who is utilized in various divisions to assist with investigations. He has earned the Detectives of the Month award. Deputy Steven T. Jones has been named Civil Deputy of the Month. He is a very enthusiastic employee who utilizes good judgment. He is considered a loyal asset to Judicial Process. Deputy Jones began his tenure in 1990 and was assigned to the Traffic Division. Later he was assigned to Corrections as well as Fleet Operations. He has been in Judicial Process since 2013. Captain Micah Bourgeois has been recognized as the Administrative and Support Services Deputy of the Month. His career began in 2006 and he was assigned to Corrections. He s previously been assigned to Communications and C. I. U. In 2008 he was transferred to Fleet Operations. Captain Bourgeois is doing an excellent job revitalizing Fleet Operations. His hard work related to the new command post and the EBRSO Helicopter s progress is greatly appreciated. Deputy Garrett Morris has been named Uniform Patrol Deputy of the Month. He began his career in 2014 and was assigned to Communications; in 2015 he was transferred to Uniform Patrol. Deputy Morris is commended for securing the arrests of 3 individuals suspected of armed robbery. Based on a clothing description given by the victim, Deputy Morris was able to detain the suspects until positive identification was made

JTF7 was presented with a dock line and oar from the USS Cole while performing Security Zone Enforcement activities in New Orleans during Navy Fleet Week in April 2015.EBRSO Deputies John Buie and Darryl Armentor created a display for the items which is now hanging in the Port of Baton Rouge Maritime Security and Operations Center, 3rd floor. The items are especially significant to JTF7 since the August 2000 attack on the USS Cole brought maritime terrorism to the attention of the US Government.. EBRSO K-9 Team Seizes Forty Pounds of Cocaine East Baton Rouge Sheriff s K-9 team seized 40 lbs of suspected Cocaine from an unclaimed bag on a passenger bus on I-12 East this morning. An EBRSO K-9 Deputy was conducting criminal patrols on I-12 East bound when he conducted a traffic stop on a bus after he saw the vehicle fail to signal and begin flashing hazard lights while driving. Once pulled over the driver asked the deputy to check the luggage compartment under the bus. The Deputy and his Narcotics Detection K-9 Jumma performed an exterior sniff of all luggage located underneath the bus. Jumma signaled on an untagged bag. The bag contained a 18 kilograms of suspected Cocaine in 16 individual packages with a street value of approximately $1.8 million.
