NISTians do freak out! Sports and entertainment are a major part of the curriculum at NIST. We lay special focus on the students' overall progress and growth with a strong emphasis on sports and extra-curricular activities. The college organizes various inter-college competitions. Cultural events are held during college festivals. The NIST-ISTE chapter holds a three-day All-India event called "SANKALP" each year comprising more than 25 technical and cultural programs. A special event called WAVE, held every year, highlights the cultural talent of our incoming batch. "Waves" is a smash-hit with students. It is replete with dances, debates, skits, mono-acting, just-a-minute sessions, painting, cartooning, tattoo-making, dumb charades, antakshari, rapid-fire quiz and multi-cultural fashion parade. Students also put up their own food and games stalls. "Waves", therefore, is total fun. Each hostel also organizes its own extra-curricular activities.

WAVES When the temperature touches 40 C, what does one do to beat the heat? Maybe drink more liquids, have a light diet and restrict our movements by confining ourselves to an air-conditioned room. But we, at NIST, don't do the ordinary. We NISTians drench ourselves in festive spirit, fun and frolic by letting our hair down in the annual intra-collegiate fest WAVES. The muchawaited event was inaugurated by honorable Placement Director, Prof. Mrs. Geetika Mudali, along with our beloved Director, Prof. Sangram Mudali The spirit of enjoyment splashed the evening with myriad hues as students took to the stage showcasing their varied talents in the field of music, dance, stand-up comedy, and acting. Our very own band NMS brought the audience to their feet as the rocking group belted out one peppy number after another. Both the evenings added vivacity, color, energy, vibrancy and vitality - on stage and off stage too - with a fantastic line-up of cultural programs. NIST clubs like Club Innova, Club Eureka, NIST Astronomy Club, etc., entertained the audience with excellent creative concepts presented through various skits that were staged.
