Anesthesia Experience As a Registrar at Apollo Hospital in the Department of Anesthesiology for 3 years, I was rotated in all surgical specialities and sub specialities and was trained to provide general anesthesia and regional anesthesia. I was involved in the preoperative work up and patient optimization, intra operative management of patients of all age groups, and post operative care. I had to attend call every 5 th day, and I was trained to manage patients for emergency surgery. I could manage patients for elective and emergency procedures with confidence. In Urology theatre, I was trained to provide regional and general anesthesia for open and endoscopic procedures and manage peri operative complications. I was involved in the transplant program, both live related and cadaveric, which, was an ambitious project of the Hospital. Laproscopic nephrectomy and percutaneous nephrolithotomy were areas of my interest. Vascular surgery was a challenge. I had the opportunity to manage Aortic Aneurysm surgeries and Peripheral Bye pass surgeries. I was trained in providing regional anesthesia for carotid endarterectomy and manage them post operatively As a registrar, I was exposed to cardio thoracic surgeries. I was trained under direct supervision to manage patients who undergo CABG (both on and off pump), valve replacement surgeries and pediatric cardiac procedures. I also had the opportunity to provide anesthesia for 7

Neurosurgical procedures, both elective and emergency. I have managed patients who undergo interventional neurological procedures for neurovascular disease. I am trained to manage anesthesia during elective orthopedic procedures including joint replacements, spine reconstructive surgeries and corrective procedures. I am trained to use nerve stimulator and ultrasound guided nerve blocks under direct supervision. Trauma, both minor and major, was managed as elective or emergency procedure. I am confident in managing patients who come for laparoscopic procedures as day case and as in - patients. I was trained in providing anesthesia for bariatric procedures under direct supervision. I am also trained in providing anesthesia for patients who undergo cosmetic, plastic and reconstructive procedures. Obstetric and gynecologic procedures are done on elective and emergency basis and I am exposed to all types of procedures. Providing labor analgesia is a part of acute pain services and I am trained in providing analgesia in labor room. I am also trained to manage newborn and children who undergo minor and major procedures. Anesthesia in remote locations like endoscopy suite, Cardiac catheterization unit, Radiology department and in Extracorporeal Shock Wave Lithotripsy room is a part of training. During my training as Registrar, I submitted a research project titled, Comparing intravenous clonidine and esmolol in attenuating intubation response. Past experience in anesthesia I was working as a Registrar at GKNM Hospital. I administer general and regional anesthesia without supervision. I am involved in managing patients who are planned for obstetrics and gynecology, general surgery, oncology, plastic, pediatric, orthopedic and neurosurgical procedures. I am also involved in managing patients in intensive care unit independently. I do 1:5 on call. I am involved in providing sedation and general anesthesia for MRI, procedures in Cardiac catheterization lab. During on call duty, I am a team member of Medical Emergency Team which is called for resuscitation in acutely ill patients in the hospital. 8

Present Experience in Anesthesia: As a Registrar in this Department at Apollo Hospitals, Bangalore, I have been exposed to all General Surgical, Laproscopic Surgeries, Gynecological and Obstetric Surgeries, Elective Orthopedic and Spine surgeries, Trauma Management in ICU and OR, ENT and opthalmological Surgeries including Pediatric Surgery and Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery. I am rotated in to Neurosurgical Unit, once a week. My special interest is in to Labor analgesia in Labor suit aiming for painless delivery with least morbidity, if need be, extend anesthesia for surgical delivery. I had enough experience to manage parturients with medical disease and women admitted for complicated deliveries. I had provided sedation for outside OR procedures like, Endoscopy and ERCP, MRI, Radiation therapy without supervision. I am confident enough to manage medical emergencies too. Complimentary speciality training 1. House Officer : A supervised rotational job in the Departments of Medicine, Surgery, Obstetrics and gynecology, Pediatrics, Orthopedics and Community Medicine. I was involved in outpatient, inpatient and emergency care. I was trained in bedside procedures like blood sampling, lumbar puncture, pleural effusion tap, peritoneal tap etc. 2. Senior House Officer at Hindu Mission Hospital and Get Well Hospital In the Department of Medicine and Critical care at Hindu Mission Hospital, I was involved in Outpatient, Inpatient and emergency care. I was trained in patient work up and management of critical Illness. Community services were part of training. I was involved in outpatient and inpatient care at Getwell Hospital. I was trained in diagnosis and management of acute and chronic Illness. I was rotated once a week in Diabetic outpatient care. 3. Senior House Officer at Apollo Hospital: I was involved in outpatient and inpatient care of patients with Neurological disease. Stabilization of patients admitted to Emergency Department was part of training. These patients were followed up in Critical Care Unit and were followed up. 9

During this period I had to attend to call every 7 th day. I have accompanied patients who were shifted to another campus of same Hospital for Neurosurgical care. Academic teaching As a Consultant, I am involved in the regular academic teaching program in the department. I am involved in preparing academic schedule for the post graduates and conduct written examinations. Presented topics related to anesthesia and critical care during students seminars. Management experience : I was responsible for rostering the Registrar rota and helped in smooth functioning of theatre list and manage manpower subject to availability. I was involved in organizing Difficult Airway Workshop in January 2010. Personal Interest : I am interested in Swimming, Skating, playing badminton and Tennis.
