Weisman Museum (Adjacent to Smothers Theatre) Artists have been inspired by nature since the dawn of time. This exhibition features a diverse group of contemporary artists who comment on our relationship to the natural world. Their art reveals the complex ways nature functions in society ranging from a source of beauty to be admired to a resource to be respected, utilized, and conserved. Works by artists such as Ed Ruscha, Joe Goode, Peter Alexander, Chuck Arnoldi, and many younger talents capture our complex and multifaceted connection with our environment. If you would like to attend the Res Road Regatta, a shuttle will leave Brock House at 4:40 p.m. to transport you to the event. 5-6 p.m. Res Road Regatta...Residential Road The freshman class will present a parade of floats around the residential road. Decorating floats to match their house themes for the year, the parade route will take them past all of the residences. At the end of the event, each house will have two minutes to fit as many people into a Mini Cooper as they can. Come watch this special event! 5:30-6:20 p.m. Campus Recreation Fitness Class: Boxing... Harilela International Tennis Stadium Fitness Studio Boxing is an old-school approach to training. This class emphasizes proper technique and incorporates innovative exercise principles such as H.I.I.T. (high intensity interval training). This is a great way for anyone to achieve fitness. Pepperdine faculty, staff, and students get free admission with their Pepperdine I.D. 1:30-3:30 p.m. Point Dume Nature Hike...Seaver Main Lot Experience a 360 panoramic vista of southern California, with the Santa Monica Mountains to the north, Channel Islands of the Pacific to the south, Los Angeles basin to the east, and Camarillo Valley to the west. Visit the original movie sites of Planet to the Apes (Charlton Heston s final scene) and Iron Man (Tony Stark s house). Observe wildlife, sandy beaches, coastal bluffs, and tide pools. Bring binoculars for close scrutiny of sea lions, dolphins, and possibly the early arrival of grey whales. Plan to get wet and sandy, with plenty of sun exposure. The hike will be led by Stephen Davis, biologist in the Natural Science Division of Seaver College. 2-2:30 p.m. Admission Information Session... Stauffer Chapel This information session is hosted by the Seaver College Office of Admission. It will be led by an Admission Counselor who will provide in-depth information regarding

student life at Pepperdine and our admission process. The information session will also provide a brief overview of financial assistance, and there will be a short Q & A period following the presentation. 2-3:30 p.m. Pepperdine Improv Troupe (PIT) Comedy Performance...Elkins Auditorium Are you ready to laugh? The Pepperdine Improv Troupe will be entertaining the masses in Elkins Auditorium. PIT has been performing for the past seven years, and promises to be a hilarious addition to Waves Weekend. Past PIT alumni will be joining this performance. 2-3:30 p.m. Pi Phi Moms & Mocktails..Sandbar Patio The mothers of our Pi Phi sisters are invited to our Moms & Mocktails hour! Games will be played and food and mocktails will be served as the mothers and daughters get to know each other. Hosted by the women of Pi Beta Phi. 3 p.m. Women s Soccer vs. University of San Diego... Tari Frahm Rokus Field Come watch our Waves in action as they play USD. It promises to be an exciting game! Show your Waves Weekend name tag and get into the game for free. Pepperdine faculty, staff, and students get free admission with their Pepperdine I.D. 4-9 p.m. Waves Weekend Concert...Alumni Park Join your Pepperdine Family for the 2014 The Waves Weekend Concert, featuring the Plain White T's and Andy Grammer with opening band, Mleo, comprised of current Seaver College student, Audrey Reed and friends. Doors open at 4:00 p.m. A valid concert ticket is required for entrance. Six of LA's favorite food trucks will be available for you to purchase dinner and snacks with cash or credit card. Please feel free to bring blankets and short lawn chairs to enjoy the concert in the park. No pets are allowed in the concert venue. Food is not included in the admission price. Paid admission to concert venue required for all activities within the concert venue, including food truck service, the students' Spirit Cup Lip Sync performance, and all other onstage performances including Plain White T's and Andy Grammer. 4-6:30 p.m. Family Camp Kids Corner Pepperdine University Alumni Affairs Family Camp will be hosting an area for families with children to enjoy making crafts, playing games, and a fun inflatable in an area designed just for them. 4-8 p.m. Alumni VIP Section Join Seaver College and George Pepperdine College Alumni Affairs for a special area just for alumni! There will be a designated area on Alumni Park for you to gather before and during the concert. Waves Weekend registration required for admittance to this event.

4-9 p.m. A Taste of L.A.: Favorite Local Food Trucks Six of LA s favorite food trucks will be available for you to purchase dinner and snacks. The food trucks include: Don Chow Truck, Meat the Greek, Slammin Sliders, Smokin Willies, India Jones, and Palazzolo's Gelato. All food trucks accept both cash and credit cards. 4:30 p.m. Spirit Cup Lip-Sync Competition Watch groups compete in the final Spirit Week event with exciting and fun performances. We will announce the Spirit Cup winners following the lip-sync. Waves Weekend registration required for admittance to this event. *Headlining artists will begin approximately at 6:20 p.m. Sunday, October 19, 2014 (Shuttles are not available on Sunday) 9-9:50 a.m. University Church Bible Classes Wake up a little earlier and join members of the University Church for the Bible class that most interests you. Children s Bible classes are also available in the Pendleton Learning Center. 9:50-10:10 a.m. University Church Fellowship Time... Joslyn Plaza Mix and mingle with members of the University Church and other guests over coffee and donuts before making your way into Elkins Auditorium for worship. 10:15-11:30 a.m. University Church Worship Service... Elkins Auditorium Join the members of the University Church for worship and a message from the Word to finish off your weekend with praise and celebration.
