ITB Overview NATO C2 systems under test Interoperability testing between National and with NATO C2 ITB Framework provides an environment to perform integration testing of constructive simulations, national laboratories and live systems within realistic threat scenarios

ITB Environment & Constraints ITB is, and will remain, at NCI Agency The Hague Data is up to and including NS NS Clearances will be required for developers Secure development environment may require CTS clearance Export control and software licencing limitations may apply Data Centre VMWare virtualized environment NATO Office of Security Approved Software (such as operating system versions) Integration and interoperation with NCI Agency hardware and software is necessary ITB will connect to CFBLNet and NSWAN Standards Link 16 (JREAP-C STANAG 5516) Distributed Interactive Simulation (IEEE 1278.1) HLA (IEEE 1516)

ITB Configurations As in ITB Build 5, the ITB will continue to be available in 3 different configurations Core ITB Complete set of ITB OFS elements Connected to the NS CFBLNet enclave Equipped with high redundancy and backup storage Upgraded with graphics hardware for performance Operational ITB Connected to NS WAN and systems on the NS operational network Upgraded to match Core configuration Portable ITB Same functionality and software as the Operational ITB on a portable laptop Upgraded with new laptop Serves as backup for the Operational ITB Potentially three sets of each software licence will be needed

ITB Build 6 Functional Scope Why does it need to be upgraded? Moving from ALTBMD to BMD (theatre to Europe-wide defence) Technical obsolescence of underlying infrastructure Improvements of existing capabilities of the ITB Framework: Additional models of ballistic and air breathing missiles Improved automated analysis of JREAP and APP11-C messages Improved scenario preparation tools New functionalities of the ITB Framework: Model of Consequence of Engagement and Consequence of Intercept Exercise Control Tools Interface with NATO Education Training Exercise and Evaluation (ETEE) capability Caveat: There may be differences in final authorised scope so the subsequent Invitation for Bid (IFB) will supersede this briefing

ITB Build 6 Objectives Replace legacy Scenario Preparation (SP) service with more effective and efficient solution capable of supporting new BMD threat characteristics Integrate Threat Injection and Scenario Preparation services Upgrade Simulation Control (SC) service to manually control engagement outcomes and inject command messages ( White Cell capability) Implement common visualization and analysis tools for all phases of ITB operations, encompassing Data Collection (DC), Analysis Results (AR), 3D Visualization (3D), Gameboard (GB), and legacy Information Technology (IT) services Dynamically model launch debris, countermeasures, and COI/COE/CONI effects Add hardware graphics for upgraded SP, AR, 3D, and GB service capabilities
