4 Introduction of the NATO Communication and Information Agency The NATO Communications and Information Agency (NCI Agency) was established on 1 July 2012 as a result of the merger of 4 independent NATO Agencies. The establishment of the agency has been part of a broader NATO reform to foster efficiency and effectiveness. The NCI Agency "connects forces, NATO and Nations"- and is NATO's IT and C4ISR (Command, Control, Communications, and Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) provider, including cyber and missile defence. 20/07/2015 NATO UNCLASSIFIED 4

8 JISR SL/Geospatial Services Branch The Geospatial Services Branch is the Agency s centre of competence for all aspects of Geospatial Intelligence (GEOINT), Geospatial Support (GS) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
