Join us for Homecoming 2011 Student Events Monday, October 31 Union Costume Coffeehouse 8:00 p.m. Bowld student Commons The Union Costume Coffeehouse is our traditional Homecoming week kick off for students. The Bowld will be filled with students dressed in incredibly creative (and family friendly) costumes while enjoying cotton candy, caramel apples, Barefoots Joe beverages and snacks. The karaoke machine will be ready to go to show off our Union talent. Tuesday, November 1 9th Annual Campus & Community: A Day of Remembrance & Service 8:30 a.m. G.M. Savage Memorial Chapel Each November, Union University sends out hundreds of students, faculty and staff to serve in the Jackson and West Tennessee community as we remember the generosity shown to our campus following the storms. This day of service allows the university to show appreciation to the community in tangible ways while recognizing God s ultimate provision for our campus. Union Night 5:30-7:30 p.m. The Great Lawn Bring your family to campus for an exciting night of events as we celebrate homecoming weekend at Union University. The Great Lawn will be packed with your favorite student organization vendors as well as schools and departments from across the university. Bring your lawn chair and enjoy good food and fellowship with classmates, professors and current students. There will be activities for all ages throughout the night from party inflatables and a rock climbing wall to live music and face painting. The night will end as the music fades and the sky over Miller Tower lights up with fireworks celebrating all that God has done these past 188 years at Union University. Savage Memorial Chapel Union University and the Student Activities Council welcome Jon Foreman in concert for Homecoming 2011. Jon Foreman is the co-founder and lead vocalist/guitarist of Switchfoot. Since originally forming in 1996, Switchfoot has sold more than 4.5 million albums and is known as a band committed to bringing attention to those in need. To do so, the band has partnered with such organizations as Habitat for Humanity, the ONE Campaign, To Write Love on Her Arms and the John M. Perkins Foundation. Since 2008, Foreman has released four solo EPs that showcase his talent in songwriting and acoustic performance. He also began collaborations with Nickel Creek s Sean Watkins and formed the duo known as Fiction Family. UU tickets $5, General $10, Door $15. Biology Come and hang out in the biology lounge and meet with your favorite members of the faculty.
