Situation Update Received from different sources that the death figure crossed 1931 and casualties more 4627 received by different hospitals. 35 districts out of 75 districts are affected. 11 districts are priority for health intervention ie Gorkha, Dhading, Raswa,Sindupalchowk, Kavre, Nuwakot, Dolkha, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktpur, Ramechhap. Road connecting to Easter Region from Dhankuta is damaged Many houses were collapsed on affected districts Regular CNDRC meeting called by MOHA to review the response coordination. Regular cluster meeting chaired by Joint Secretaries, MOHA at MOHA Already requested international support including military support from India and China for this response Command post has been setup under the lead of Home Secretary with secretaries from other ministries 2. Immediate Neets Medical tent ( 50 bed capacity) 100 Essential medicine 11 sets of drugs list mentioned in Annex 1. Surgical Kits (a/b) - 50 kits IEHK - 20 kits Body bags - 1000 3. Health Sector Response MOHP Response Central level coordination at Health Operation Centre, MOHP is providing response coordination from central level. WHO (Representative, EHA TO and NPO) supported the response support from HEOC. Health minister, DG DOHS, Planning Chief, Curative Service Division Chief, Director, EDCD were there to support hospitals for this response. External Development Partners meeting organized for addressing immediate needs and coordinating bi-lateral support Health Cluster Coordination Meeting organized in MOHP to support response operation. o Cluster partners are requested to provide on ground and regional surge capacity o Request to mobilize necessary figure in the assumption working figure like 5000 death and 50000 injuries. o To review the priority districts and list of essential drugs and informe MOHP which district(s) can be supported.
Health Cluster Earthquake SitRep 1 2 Health Minister chaired the Meeting with the Kathmandu valley hospital directors organized to identify the immediate needs and gaps; and also to ensure MOHP support to them. Following gaps were identified o Tents 50 bedded capacity - 20 for five major hospitals = 100 o Medicine (see annex 1) o Oxygen o Logistics support Directors informed to the Minister that they do not need foreign medical team to support them in their respective hospitals. They are ready to deploy team to the districts if require. MOHP assigned senior directors to coordinate the district response MOHP requested Department of Urban Development and Building Construction (DUDBC) for rapid structural assessment of central level hospitals NHRC Executive Director assigned for coordinating Foreign and National Medical Teams with DG, DOHS and Chief of Curative Service Division. 4 Medical teams mobilized to Gorkha to support the response 1 medical team mobilized to Dhandhing to support response 5. WHO s Response Regional surge team will be arriving tomorrow to support response coordination. South East Asia Health Regional Emergency Fund released to support MOHP (US$ 175,000 as first tranche) based on MOHP request Support MOHP on cluster coordination Mobilized 5 tents to the central level hospitals Additional 4 IEHK handed over to the MOHP 5 surgical kits handed over to different hospitals 450 body bags handed over to Nepal Army Other agency s support: Other partners are mobilizing necessary support from the region based on need identified by MOHP.
