Melissa Kemsley, Outdoor Adventures Previously known as Operation Adrenaline Rush, now operating under Outdoor Adventures, offers activities such as rock climbing, archery, mountain biking, stand-up paddle board, surfing and/or kayaking. Now offering Unit PT Challenge as an alternate to regular PT with Marines. Choose up to 3 of the 6 activities previously stated to complete a Unit PT Challenge. Requests for events should be completed 3 weeks to a month out. Can take as little as 10 Marines and up to as many as 100 Marines. 11. Mark Buehman, Hard Corps Race Series All Hard Corps Race Events for entire year can be seen on the flyer or on the website http://www.mccscp.com/hcrs March 17th - Hell Fire Fat Tire: 25 mile mountain bike race, 15 mile mountain bike race, and 1 Mile Kids Ride. Intermediate course at Lake O Neill. If you need a MTB you can check out a bike from SMP, contact Danielle West at WESTDN@usmc-mccs.org Limited supply, first come first served. Would Marines rather stay in a nicer hotel for the Las Vegas trip, or stay in a hotel in the price range of Circus, Circus and pay less for their registration fee? Marines would like to take the less expensive option. B. How long is Universal Pass good for? The pass is good for 9 more months and has some blackout dates. These dates are written on the back of the pass. 15. Volunteer Opportunities and Upcoming Trips - Subjects discussed were in SMP agenda (Attachment 2). 03/01 Camp Pendleton Installation SMP Council Meeting monthly meeting will be held at 1330 at 43 Area SMP Rec Center Bldg. 430314 03/07 MCAS Camp Pendleton & MAG-39 Council Meeting monthly meeting will be held at 1330 at Hall of Heroes Bldg. 2368 03/16 Hollywood Sign - Registration is $5.00 per person & includes transportation & a day of exploring the Griffith Park area in Hollywood. Group departs Semper Fit HQ, Bldg. 1253 at 0700. Registration opens Feb 16th & ends March13th. Limited to 25 spots. 03/23 Anza Borrego Slot Canyons A beautiful natural formation nestled in the heart of the Anza Borrego State Park; it is not one to miss! This trip is only $5.00 per person, pre-registration is required to plan for food. Group departs Semper Fit HQ, Bldg. 1253 at 0700. Registration opens Feb 20th & ends March 20th. Limited to 25 spots. 03/30 Universal Studios - This trip comes at the low price of $60 & the entrance ticket is an ANNUAL PASS to be used for future trips. Registration is required, group departs Semper Fit HQ Bldg. 1253 at 0730. Registration opens Feb 26th & ends March 25. Limited to 33 spots. 04/06 Disneyland Come see Mickey for only $40.00 per person, which includes transportation & park hopper entry. Group departs Semper Fit HQ, Bldg. 1253 at 0700 & will return at 2200. Registration opens March 6th & ends April 3rd. Absolutely no refunds after April 4th for any reason. 04/13 Borrego Palm Canyon Hike A short trek from the desert to the tropics, through rocky canyon into lush willows & small waterfalls (listen for the hummingbirds). $5.00 per person includes transportation & hydration. Pre-registration is required to plan for food. Group departs Semper Fit HQ Bldg. 1253 at 0700. Registration opens March 6th & ends April 10. Limited to 25 spots. 04/27 04/29 Salt River Tubing in Yuma Grab your sunblock, sunglasses & large brimmed hats it s time to go tubing down the Colorado River! $40.00 per person includes transportation, camping, food & tubing. Group departs Semper Fit HQ Bldg. 1253 at 0800 on the 27th. Registration opens March 20 & ends April 24th. Limited to 30 spots. 16. Conclusion Meeting ended at 1410. Newsletter March 2018 Advanced registration is required for all SMP trips, events & volunteer opportunities. Program events are open only to single Marine and Sailors stationed on Camp Pendleton. Participants who volunteer must register in advance with SMP HQ in order to receive a letter of appreciation. Volunteers must provide their own transportation except for PE fitness Challenge. A signed command permission slip is required for all SMP activities. All activities depart from Semper Fit Headquarters Bldg. 1253. Unless otherwise stated and require that participants utilize the provided transportation.
