There is a tremendous amount of training and skill needed to train bomb technicians. The PD does not have resources to facilitate a bomb squad detail. SIGNIFICANT EVENTS 4/9/217 At approximately :PM, a traffic collision was reported at Wilshire Boulevard and Bedford Drive. Units arrived and determined that a vehicle had struck two pedestrians which resulted in the death of one pedestrian and left a second in critical condition. 4/1/217 4/14/217 4/1/217 4/21/217 4/2/217 4//217 The Burglary Task Force responded to the Antelope Valley where they located and arrested an identified suspect for residential burglary. At 1:2AM, officers responded to a report of gunshots in the 1 block of South Roxbury Drive. Responding officers located spent shell casings to a.4 caliber handgun. No gunshot victims located or identified at the scene. Officers located and arrested one male juvenile and one male adult in the City of Los Angeles. The two individuals were associated with the South Roxbury Drive shooting which occurred on 4/14/17. At approximately 12:4AM, officers encountered two individuals in La Cienega Park. The Officers located a loaded pistol that one of the subjects had attempted to conceal. Both suspects were subsequently taken into custody on various charges. Officers responded to a burglary alarm on North Linden Drive. During a search they located a suspect inside the residence who had an empty gun holster on his belt. A replica firearm was found nearby. The suspect taken into custody. at :AM, Officers Responded to a vehicle alarm on Willaman Drive. Officers located a possible suspect two blocks away who had items consistent with stolen property from the vehicle. DETECTIVE BUREAU 4/1/217 Through investigative follow up, identified residential burglary suspect Tyrone Jennings was arrested in the Antelope Valley. This arrest was effected by the BHPD s crime suppression team. 4/1/217 Through investigative follow up, identified residential burglary suspect Cameron Alexander was arrested in North Hollywood. This arrest was effected by the BHPD s crime suppression team. 4/19/217 Joey Lee Vercher was arrested and subsequently charged by the District Attorney's Office for criminal threats and negligent discharge of a firearm relating to an incident which occurred on 4/14/17. Two other adults and one juvenile were also arrested in connection with this event. 4/21/217 Zheng Xeujing and Xiuting Lin were arrested at Neiman Marcus for various fraud and identity theft violations. As part of the continuing investigation, it was revealed that the parties were in possession of over sixty () fraudulent credit cards. The case is being prepared for consideration of a filing with the District Attorney s Office. 4/27/217 Detective personnel participated in a multi-agency search warrant evolution related to a series of pharmacy robberies in the Los Angeles area. Several items related to a Beverly Hills robbery were recovered. 4//217 Six () BHMC violations were presented to the District Attorney's Office for filing consideration. Enforcement actions included those against unlawful camping, drinking in public, feeding of feral cats, and scavenging. TRAFFIC BUREAU

4/17/217 Traffic Bureau Supervisors met with City staff to coordinate the Depak Chopra event at City hall in May 4/18/217 Motor Officers received two (2) Harley Davidson police motorcycles for a ten (1) week period of testing and evaluation 4/18/217 Traffic Bureau Supervisors met with City staff to coordinate the Beverly Hills Art Show and the Concours d'elegance Car Show, both events occur in May 4//217 Traffic Bureau Supervisors met with Metro Purple Line expansion project representatives, several times during the month, regarding construction timeline, construction related activities, and construction traffic plans on Wilshire Blvd between San Vicente and La Cienega Blvd 4//217 Traffic Bureau Supervisors met with project representatives from the Santa Monica Blvd Reconstruction Project, several times during the month, to determine TCO/Officer deployment related to the project, to discuss safety issues, traffic issues and community impact concerns 4//217 Parking Enforcement Officers wrote 8,24 citations during the month. PERSONNEL & TRAINING BUREAU //217 During the month of April, staff processed sixty-two (2) entry-level and eight (8 )lateral police applicants for the police officer position and six () applicants for the police cadet position. In addition, one (1) lateral dispatcher was hired during the month of April.
