Industry Research by Koncept Analytics Indonesia Hospital Sector Report ----------------------------------------- 2017 Edition August 2017 1

Executive Summary Indonesia has a decentralized system for healthcare and involves private and public institutions. This includes planning process from top to bottom with involvement from local agencies and communities. Hospital market is one of the major segments of Indonesian s healthcare industry, which is classified into two sectors, public and private sector. Hospitals market can also be divided based on services provided by them, which are, general and specialty. The hospitals are divided into different classes based on facilities provided by them, which are, class A, class B, class C and class D. Increase in private hospitals contributed significantly in the growth of hospital market due to rise in specialized medical services and increased spending on healthcare. High quality of healthcare and less waiting time are the factors contributing to the growth of private hospitals beds. With increasing healthcare development, the number of hospitals and health staff is also increasing. In Indonesia, hospital market of Jakarta grew significantly with increasing urbanization and population growth.
