Provincial Aerospace GOC Operations Canada augments its maritime domain awareness needs through an alternate service delivery (ASD) model 8,000 hours of maritime surveillance are provided by PAL annually to various GOC departments for many mission requirements Aircraft bases: St. John s, NL Halifax, NS Comox, BC Missions are tasked directly by GOC departments and deconflicted by PAL Aircraft equipped with modern sensors developed for military applications Similar model adopted by other countries including the Netherlands and Australia (unique model) 4

The fishing vessel Jennie and Doug reports hearing a faint Andrea Gail at 8294 kilohertz, and for the next twelve hours Halifax tries that frequency but cannot raise her. Judith Reeves on the Eishin Maru thinks she hearts someone with an English accent radioing the Andrea Gail that he s coming to their aid, but she can t make out the name of the vessel. She never hears the message again. A SpeedAir radar search picks up an object that might possibly be the Andrea Gail, and Halifax tries to establish radio contact, without success 8
Miss Ally, February 17 th, 2014 February 17 th, 2013, Miss Ally was lost amid a severe storm off Nova Scotia a Hercules C-130 out of 14 Wing Greenwood, a Royal Canadian Air Force Cormorant, a U.S. Coast Guard Ocean Sentry, the Royal Canadian Air Force and a Dept. of Fisheries and Oceans chartered aircraft covered more than 18,100 square kilometres... Government Procurement Policies CADSI, 2009 The industry employs 70,000 Canadians, and generates $10B a year in defence and security sales of which 50% is exported. Current ITB/VP policies weigh heavily on growth, sustainment and export growth. 21
