CORPORATE REGION OFFICE OF THE CEO DRIVER (PAY ZONE B1) SALARY RANGE (R75 464.00pa R98 762.00pa) REF: CORPCEO0114/001-01 To provide effective transport to the CEO, Company Secretary, Board members and other staff members at the CEO S office to and from the designated destination or location as well as to make deliveries of mails and board packs timeously in order to achieve the objectives of the company. Ensure the vehicle is fit for the road by undertaking and logging routine checks of lights, tyres, oil, water etc. reporting any defects to maintain the safety of driver and passengers. Collecting and sorting all deliveries to make most efficient use of the service, for optimum efficiency and safety. To drive in accordance with the South African traffic laws, and take responsibility for the vehicle, including security and the completion of relevant paperwork to provide a safe and efficient service. To ensure cleanliness of assigned vehicles at all times when in use or otherwise and that the vehicle is good conditions before use. Safe and timely transportation of freight from origin to destination as well as the payment of traffic fines for all the NHLS vehicles timeously. OFFICE OF THE COO SANDRINGHAM PERSONAL ASSISTANT TO THE CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER (PAY ZONE C2) SALARY RANGE (R165 382.00pa R222 904.00pa) Ref: CORPCOO 0114/001-01 Manage the COO s diary to ensure that all meetings and commitments are properly scheduled, well planned and that the COO is informed at all times. This responsibility extends beyond office hours (including when the COO is on national or international visits) to ensure schedules are sorted out timeously and early notifications are received by the COO. Receives, screens and actions: o o internal correspondence and telephone calls from senior staff within the NHLS by self initiated responses to managers, marked for the COO s approval or advised changes external correspondence and telephone calls as appropriate and indicate priority for the COO s attention to ensure prompt and accurate responses whilst minimizing the COO s time spent on correspondence. Manage financial and budgeting systems records for NHLS Operations which includes: o o obtaining and supplying the finance department with quotes and string codes, CAPEX items, to ensure compliance to requirements strong liaison function with the Finance Department and area managers with regard to all financial and budgeting system information and reports, to ensure that all information is correct, relevant well understood and well received Planning and coordinating of travel related aspects: o o o Plan and co-ordinate all travel arrangements for the COO, provide travel agents with accurate and complete itineraries and check results against authorized requests for the COO and for all guests to the Department. Independently solving all related problems that may occur to ensure hassle-free travelling for the COO and guests. Coordinating and making all necessary arrangements for obtaining VISAS, confirmations of bookings, making of payments and funding arrangements and providing the COO with a travel file upon departure from containing all the relevant and needed documentation and information for the trip and visit, neatly arranged and clearly marked to ensure that all information is at hand and correct. Assist area manager secretaries in ensuring that all relevant documentation is submitted and that documents are duly signed by the COO. Liaise with the internal department regarding matters relevant to each department. Submit information relating to department when requested Supervise the leave taken by members of staff to ensure compliance to requirements. Monitor registrations to professional bodies and accrual of CPD points for COO to ensure the process and opportunities for obtaining CPD points is managed sufficiently and effectively. 6

Managing the administrative systems in the office, this includes: o o o o typing confidential documents and otherwise, coordinating tasks to the Area Manager secretaries, collate and maintain records and filing of all documents according to procedures keeping personnel records up to date to ensure accuracy, safekeeping, confidentiality and timeous preparation of requested documents. MYCOBACTERIOLOGY REFERRAL LAB SUPERVISOR LABORATORY (PAYZONE C3) SALARY RANGE (R202 093.00pa R270 853.00pa) REF: GAUJC0114/001-07(41814-004-1133) Supervises the correct application of quality assurance processes and standard operating procedures to ensure corrective actions are taken as required Reviews and implements change to standard operating procedures in order to ensure the laboratory service is constantly able to provide a high quality, cost effective and safe services Supervise and monitor laboratory processes and maintain the technical laboratory service to ensure accurate processing of specimens and recording reliable results Participate in asset management and procurement of goods to ensure the most effective utilization of resources, optimize stock levels, reduce costs and ensure availability of required stock at all times Assist with the generation of management reports as required to monitor work and performance status of the laboratory service and take corrective action when required Liaises with customers in order to resolve service related issues, maintain a positive image of the organization and promote the services of the NHLS Implement and maintain the quality system that governs the laboratory service and components of the department to ensure compliance with the principles of Good Laboratory Practice and the fulfilment of SANAS accreditation requirements Contributes to the development of an annual operational budget, and monitors and controls expenses against budget in order to control costs and maximize the profitability of the section Implement and correctly apply all NHLS policies and procedures to ensure compliance Assist in planning and supervising the activities of staff to ensure they achieve their performance objectives and ensure the most optimal utilization of available resources Participating in the delivery and promotion of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities within the department/laboratory to ensure they have the skills required by the organization and are able to achieve their performance objectives Arrange the training of students for the internship and experiential programme to ensure comprehensive preparation of students for their exams Implements safe working conditions and procedures in order to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with all legislation Performs the role of a medical technologist as required in accordance with operational needs. 3 year relevant diploma/degree and registration with the HPCSA in the appropriate category OR Registered with HPCSA as a Medical Scientist with a minimum BSc (Hons) academic qualification 6-8 years post qualification and experience in a diagnostic laboratory as a Scientist or a Medical Technologist Knowledge of relevant laboratory processes and procedures Assertiveness Interpersonal skills Computer skills Attention to detail Team leadership Communication skills Analytical skills. 19
