Centricity Perinatal C C A D

A B CA B C Information at the center of care B D C A D

Today s caregivers are bombarded with information from multiple systems and sources. Transforming that data into actionable knowledge requires something different: an IT solution that aggregates relevant patient information and presents it to caregivers at the center of care. Our clinical solutions provide robust connectivity across care areas and comprehensive patient data where it is needed most. Centricity products facilitate a new level of connectivity among people and systems across the entire clinical spectrum. At every step in the cycle of care from the business office to the bedside GE Healthcare Centricity products helps to enhance the workflow, integrate data from across settings, and turn information into insight for every member of the healthcare community. A C With GE Healthcare Centricity Perinatal, care teams have a fluent source of relevant patient information that helps them visualize, access, and act more efficiently, more effectively helping to improve patient health and safety at every touch point. GE Healthcare. Healthcare Re-imagined.

Centricity Perinatal is a remarkable product for Perinatal care areas. I especially like the power of the product to support our compliance with current regulations while remaining extremely user friendly. Debbie Jones, RN Centricity Perinatal Clinical Systems Analyst HCA Gulf Coast Division

Safety first Centricity Perinatal makes patient information from all relevant sources available when and where caregivers need it, supporting safe, efficient care for mothers and their newborns. Patient safety is paramount in any care setting, but even more so throughout pregnancy and childbirth when the tiniest patients and their mothers are most vulnerable. GE Healthcare Centricity Perinatal helps support clinicians to enhance patient safety in Labor and Delivery (L&D), Mother-Baby, and the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). At every step, in every setting, Centricity Perinatal gives the entire clinical team a complete picture of the mother s and baby s health helping to improve workflow and supporting informed, collaborative care. With capabilities such as protocol-based alerts, remote viewing of patient information, and access to the latest clinical findings, caregivers are equipped to deliver safe, appropriate, quality care at each stage. To help further manage risk, Centricity Perinatal creates a reliable, defensible, long-term clinical record that supports documentation needs today and years from now. It also accommodates a wide range of users with scalable configurations and a flexible design that can be tailored to fit site-specific needs. In addition, Centricity Perinatal interoperates with GE Healthcare and non-ge Healthcare systems and devices, helping to eliminate duplicate data entry, reduce errors, and create a coordinated, streamlined clinical workflow. A B D Centricity Perinatal does not replace clinical observation and evaluation of the patient at regular intervals, by a qualified care provider, who will make diagnoses and decide on treatments or interventions. Features of the Centricity Perinatal system are intended to support clinical decision making and should be used in combination with other clinical inputs, such as real time patient observation and information contained within other systems or recording tools. Not intended to be used as a primary monitoring device.

A B D Mitigating risk The integrated intelligence and reporting capabilities in Centricity Perinatal support risk management by enabling providers to deliver clinical excellence, reduce errors, and enhance patient safety, all while supporting compliance. Keep patient safety at the forefront Integrated Alerts & Reminders notify clinicians of site-specific clinical protocols or pathways at any point of care, enabling fast response to patient events and potentially improving outcomes. Combined data review and data entry screens in the NICU allow providers to document physical exams and narrative notes, while viewing relevant documentation from nursing. Maternal pregnancy and delivery information from the mother s chart automatically populates the baby s record, so no time is spent collecting and transcribing information from a hard-copy chart. That means fewer errors and safer care without delay. Improve quality and compliance Robust reporting capabilities enable clinicians and the organization to monitor and improve performance relative to industry and internal benchmarks. Centricity Perinatal enables compliance with JCAHO and HIPAA, and built-in ACOG/AWHONNadopted NICHD terminology helping providers meet regulatory and professional guidelines for accreditation and quality management.

QS was the first system we had and the benchmark for all other electronic systems. The coordination of the fetal strip and documentation is vital not only to patient care, but also for our legal department. Jennie Clement, RN, BSN Rochester, NY

Borderless communication Centricity Perinatal captures comprehensive activity for the entire nine-month perinatal period, including fetal monitoring. By integrating information from multiple devices and systems, Centricity Perinatal helps the clinical team communicate and exchange information fluently at the center of care. Deliver informed, coordinated care All care team members can access a single, consolidated perinatal record to support the delivery of informed, quality care. Enhanced forms and the ability to navigate to focused views of information helps to improve interdisciplinary care team communication. Prenatal data is available at hospital check-in from Centricity EMR, and the physician s office receives a delivery summary, so all caregivers are apprised of the patient s status. Patient records are accessible postpartum and beyond, providing documentation that is essential in a setting where the risk of litigation is high. Improve the clinical workflow Exchange of demographic and clinical data with other HL7-compliant GE Healthcare or non-ge Healthcare information systems enables one-time data entry, reduces errors, saves time, and streamlines clinical workflow. Clinicians can document in one location directly on the fetal strip, for example and the data is automatically populated wherever it is relevant throughout the patient s record. That improves collaboration and eliminates duplicate documentation. Patient monitoring devices such as maternal/fetal monitors, physiological monitors, and other bedside devices capture information critical to providing patient care. Integrating that data into Centricity Perinatal means information moves easily out of monitors and devices and is available in a useful format for review and decision making. C

Centricity Perinatal, coupled with their robust interfaces, results in much faster documentation so more time can be given for hands-on care for the patients. Darci Grota Manager of Patient Care Mercy Medical Center Oshkosh, WI

I ve had such positive experiences with the system and support from GE in 2 other hospitals. We ve been live here for 2 months and the staff and physicians already love it! Nancy Smith, RN Director of Women s Services North Suburban Medical Center Thornton, CO

B D B D Stay close no matter how far With Centricity Perinatal caregivers are in the treatment loop even while they re away. Remote access lets them keep a vigilant eye on vital patient information and take decisive actions from virtually anywhere. View patient information remotely OB Link provides access to encrypted views of fetal activity and maternal data via a Web-based browser. With mobile and remote access, physicians can respond to a nurse inquiry about the best course of action, or proactively monitor a high-risk case. Manage patient information efficiently Clinicians can remotely view and document patient information from their office or virtually anywhere using Web Office Client via Citrix or Microsoft Terminal Services. Plus, organizations can provide information access to Medical Records, Admissions or other staff without expanding costs. Centricity Perinatal can be installed as a Wide Area Network solution supporting standardized practices and consistent reporting across the multiple sites.
