POSITION DESCRIPTION Position Title: Location: Reporting to: Hours: Digital Health Project Officer Level 1, Suite 1, Werrington Park Corporate Centre, 14 Great Western Highway, Kingswood NSW 2747 Digital Health Manager Full time (4 days per week negotiable) Wentworth Healthcare Limited, provider of the Nepean Blue Mountains Primary Health Network (NBMPHN) is a not-for-profit organisation which works to improve health for the people in our community. This includes the Blue Mountains, Hawkesbury, Lithgow and Penrith local government areas. Our mission is to empower general practice and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality, accessible and integrated primary healthcare that meets the needs of our community. 1. Primary Purpose of the Role This role entails the support and implementation of change and adoption activities for digital health in targeted sectors. The Digital Health Project Officer will support general practices with the meaningful use of digital health technologies in particular My Health Record and Secure Message Delivery in the Nepean Blue Mountains region. Assistance will also be provided to allied health, specialists and pharmacy for the same purpose. 2. Key Outcomes Successful implementation of the National My Health Record within eligible general practices across the Nepean Blue Mountains region will enable the following key outcomes: 2.1 Increased acceptance of My Health Record by Health providers in our region is achieved. 2.2 Increased awareness and implementation of Secure Messaging Delivery for health providers in our region is achieved. 2.3 Health care providers receive assistance in the meaningful use of the My Health Record for their patients. 2.4 The uptake of digital solutions by general practice and other providers is increased through identification of barriers and development of solutions for the successful use of digital health. 2.5 Increased communication and sharing of information between general practice, pharmacy and other health care providers is achieved. 2.6 Enhanced capacity for shared decisions about patient treatment and care within primary, community and acute health sectors is achieved. 2.7 Capacity of health care providers and pharmacy is enhanced to improve an individual s health care journey so that they receive the right care at the right time and in the right place. 3. Key Responsibilities The following list is indicative and not limited to the key responsibilities of this role: 3.1 Utilise available information and resources to support a greater understanding and use of the My Health Record and Secure Message Delivery for health care providers. 3.2 Provide training and education for health care providers staff in relation to the meaningful use of Digital Solutions. 3.3 Liaise with NBMPHN s other programs in relation to facilitating engagement activities. 3.4 Contribute towards the overall development and reporting for primary care on the uptake of the My Health Record through the NBMPHN s data access, recording and reporting systems. This includes keeping the customer relations database up to date. 3.5 Refine and implement change, and adopt strategies and work plans for digital health in allocated areas. 4. Essential Criteria 5.1 Experience working with general practitioners and/or other health care providers or a similar customer focus that can be transferred to the health care provider setting. 5.2 Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills able to be demonstrated across a variety of mediums e.g. telephone, electronic (email) and face to face. 5.3 Demonstrated ability to manage reporting and recording of activities with attention to detail. 5.4 Demonstrated time and project management skills. 5.5 Above average IT skills and knowledge in the use of data bases, Microsoft office suite and data security. 6. Desirable Criteria 6.1 Demonstrated understanding of ehealth/digital health, particularly the National ehealth Strategy and the My Health Record System. 6.2 Demonstrated ability to work with health information systems within general practice. 6.3 Experience in delivering training and information to individuals and or small groups. 7. General 7.1 Comply with contractual obligations and deliverables as contained in the current contracts. 7.2 Contribute towards the Wentworth Healthcare overall strategic direction including implementation of the organisations vision and mission. 7.3 Display an attitude and behave in a manner that is in keeping with the organisation s values. 7.4 Have access to confidential data and information, and to preserve the confidentiality of these in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and the Privacy ACT 1988 (Cth). 7.5 Comply with the organisation s policies and procedures. 7.6 Identify and participate in continuous quality improvement opportunities and organisation accreditation requirements. 7.7 Provide a no wrong door service approach to enquiries which is courteous, friendly, supportive and professional to achieve a prompt response. 7.8 Understand and commit to EEO principles and anti-discrimination laws in the workplace. 7.9 Ensure the safety of yourself and others in line with the organisation s WHS policies and procedures and the Workplace Health and Safety Act 2011. 7.10 Undertake other duties commensurate with the role as directed. 8. Special Conditions 8.1 Some out of hours work on evenings and/or weekends may be required (e.g. attendance at community forums or meetings) for which time off in lieu may be taken. 8.2 Travel across the regions within the WHL boundary may be necessary. 8.3 Intrastate and/or interstate travel may be necessary. 8.4 Successful applicants must be willing to undertake a National Police Clearance Certificate and Working with Children Check. 9. Appointment Pre-requisites 9.1 Evidence of appropriate qualification as required. 9.2 Current NSW Driver s Licence and access to a comprehensively insured motor vehicle. 9.3 Evidence of a current National Police Clearance Certificate (no older than 6 months). 9.4 If applicable, current Working with Children Check.
