Hayes, City Manager Monthly Accomplishments and CIP Status Updates August City Clerk Attended the Florida League of Cities Conference and assisted in teaching a class to elected officials on public records laws. Traveled to South Florida to attend Florida Association of City Clerks district meetings and made a presentation to the Immediate Past President, Chevelle Nubin, Village of Wellington. Administered Election Qualification Period beginning August 28, 2017 at noon. Submitted signed agreement with Municode for Code of Ordinance Full Codification Worked with Johnna Shamblin, IT Manager, in preparation for the roll out of new BoardSync Agenda Management software and FOIA, Public Records Management software. Significant amount of time spent on extensive public records requests during August. Human Resources As mandated under Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, Filed EEO-4 Report for State and Local Government. Hired a new Deputy Fire Chief. Completed a Library Customer Service Survey with Library staff. Completed the annual Stop Loss Renewal. Hosted the Annual Benefits Fair for City employees. Neither the victim nor the suspect would cooperate. Bank Robbery at BB&T (working with FBI to run DNA samples) Parks and Recreation Parks Cemetery guys added new bricks in the front of the cemetery Seafood festival CRA Accomplishments New sign made for the gateway entrance to Mount Dora on Highland St. Future Planned work to be completed Paint the Simpson Farmhouse railing and handicap ramp. Repaint the front steps and hand railing at the Donnelly Building that were replaced. Recreation Karate is slowing growing back up now that school has started back. 10 participants New Downtown Dance Theater/ Yoga Instructor being put on payroll. Classes to begin in September Soccer Registration is underway with currently 38 kids registered. Summer Camp Finished out with 707 participants Fall Softball and Kickball Registration is underway. We are also preparing for our Halloween spectacular event, which is October 25. We are in the process of getting volunteers for both events. Upcoming Productions/Projects Donnelly House 4-Miler September 4 @ Downtown Mount Dora Coordinated by the Friends of the Donnelly House Administration Put Parks and Recreation Master Plan out for bid Attended state wide parks and recreation conference Prepared for reassignment of staff and departments for reorganization in October. Planning and Development Conducted (continue) candidate interviews for senior planner position. Completed site inspection and plat for Summerview at Wolf Creek Ridge, Phase 2A (22 lots). Staff research and coordination downtown valet program. Land Development Code Development Review Committee (DRC) working group discussions on proposed updates. City representative and attending monthly Lake-Sumter MPO Technical Advisory Committee meeting. Site inspections for the Mount Dora Christian Academy football and soccer complex improvements. Participated with Lake County engineering department presentation of the proposed Roundabout at CR 19A and Eudora Road / Old 441 to the City s Public Arts Commission. Participated in the café ordinance focus group for proposed code section updates. Researched information on proposed downtown parking time-limits. Researched information on proposed visioning and master plan consultant scope of services for the Northeast CRA. Public Works Electric Wastewater Plants Closed out the Driveway Project at WWTP2 Library For the third straight month, overall circulation was over 20,000 items, a two-year high. Admin Team participated in the State Librarian s quarterly Division Update webinar. Florida nonfiction was shifted and weeded, with over 500 records corrected. Long Term Lost Items report developed and worked, with the backlog eliminated and new management procedures established.

Office of the City Manager Memorandum -- Page 5 of 5 Friends of the Library agreed to purchase four children s library fixtures, for nearly $4,000. Children s programming continued in August for the first time, eliminating the traditional time off month of August once Summer Reading Program concluded. Circulation staff began assigned shelf maintenance duties, with uniform shelving standards and a productivity log. Successful new school readiness event Around the World at the Library attracted over 200 adults and children, with plans to repeat the event twice a year. Writer s Expo attracted 31 local writers, with lunch and nanofiction contest prizes provided by Mount Dora Library Association. New program partner Florida Storytelling Association helped develop both youth and adult recurring programs. Clearing, irrigation and planting work began in the Nunan Butterfly Garden. Expanded hours staffing model was developed for roll-out on Saturday, September 30, 2017, offering extended Saturday hours and new Sunday hours, pending budget approval.
