Schedule for EWC New Student-Participant Orientation, Education Program August 5-20th, 2006 The, Koi and Wailana Rooms are in the Hawai i Imin International Conference Center-Jefferson Hall All activities are mandatory (attendance will be taken) for all new participants unless otherwise noted. Please wear your nametags, for this serves as your ticket to meals and events. ++Continuing Participants are requested to attend marked (++) activities. ** Spouses of new Participants are welcomed at these (**) events. Saturday, 5 August - Monday, 7 August Hale Hālāwai During the Peak Times of arrivals Afternoons (Sunday & Monday) Meet in the front of Hale Hālāwai Airport Pickup / Hospitality & Reception Team ++** Designated drivers to pick up new arrivals. Hospitality Team members available during peak times to help at the reception table at Hale Hālāwai and will try to ensure that new participants have food for their first day, receive their orientation packets and information, sign up for shopping trips, housing tours and optional excursions. Shopping Trips to Safeway and Longs Drugs at Mānoa Market Place or Star Market** please be sure to sign up at reception table. A chance to buy and sell inexpensive bicycles, rice cookers, pots and pans, cooking utensils, room furnishings, etc. Shopping Trip to Daiei Store in Honolulu** An opportunity to buy the rest of your needs (kitchenware, food, electronics, etc.), at a reasonably priced department store. Field Trip to Ke Kula Kaiapuni o Ānuenue and swimming at Waimea Bay Beach Park on the North Shore of O ahu Lunch is provided. Visit to Ke Kula Kaiapuni o Ānuenue, Hawaiian immersion school in Pālolo Valley, continue to Waimea Bay on the North Shore for lunch and swimming. [Note: bring mosquito repellant, rain jacket, sunscreen lotion, hat, big bottle of water, reusable eating container & utensils, and your own beverage for lunch].
