THE RIDGE Extraordinary Panthers KISD AVID 5K Run/Walk for Austism Keller ISD AVID groups hosted the 3rd annual 5K Run/Walk for Autism last weekend. Over 350 walkers and runners participated. The AVID groups raised over $8000 to benefit "Families for Effective Autism Treatment". Way to go AVID!

Extraordinary Panthers AVID Induction & Robing Ceremony AVID robing is a part of our AVID induction ceremony. Each year we induct our new freshman and sophomores that make it through their first year of AVID. As a part of that ceremony, our Seniors select one person that they feel has played a key role in their high school success. Prior to that day, seniors are instructed they cannot put their robe on until the robing ceremony. Each senior is called on stage and the person they chose places their robe on their senior for the first time. The seniors then light their candles and pass their torch on to the AVID juniors in a candle lighting ceremony, and the next senior class is challenged to be more successful than the current senior class. The Class of 2017 is challenged to be accepted to 115 colleges and earn over 1,000,000.00 in scholarships next year! This current senior class was accepted to 94 colleges and earned a total of $850,000.00 in scholarships. The following AVID seniors were robed at the ceremony: Estefania Arabalez, Joy Chavez, Yasmine Dominguez, Colton Henderson, Brett Herman, Daisy Luera, Adrianna Murray, Vanessa Valenzuela, Sandra Berglund, Joli Blythe, Marsalis Clark, Jaxon Collins, Bistika Dahal, Shelby Denning, Maya Fitch, Kaela Lawrence, Micaela Mills, Tiarra Mitchell, Aron Nguyen, Paul Nguyen, Carlos Perez Diaz, Sarah Phillips, Hannah Rodgers, Marcus Seignon, David Smith, David Stone, Katelyn Wetherby.
