Address 115 Executive Parkway, Suite 400 City Hudson Zip code 44236 Project Description Local Jurisdictions - Please list the applicable jurisdictions (ie. cities, counties and townships). City of Hudson, Ohio

Description of Work - Please include a complete description of what the funding would construct, renovate or repair. The work will include the installation of noise walls along a portion of the Ohio Turnpike (north and south side of the turnpike) in areas with residential neighborhoods along the Ohio Turnpike Route in Hudson and in areas in which the existing topographic features do not block or reduce the noise levels of the average daily traffic on the turnpike. Project Location Project Latitude Longitude Beginning End B_LAT 41.255 E_LAT 41.254 B_LONG -81.457 E_LONG -81.423 Click here to go to ODOT's Transportation Information Management (TIMS) application to locate the Latitude and Longitude beginning and end points for the project. For instructions on how to locate Latitude and Longitude sing TIMS Click here.

Proximity to the turnpike - Eligible projects must be located within one mile of the Ohio Turnpike System. Please select the appropriate response: The project is adjacent to or within the right-of-way of the Ohio Turnpike System. The project is located within 1,000 feet of the Ohio Turnpike System. The project is located within 1 mile of the Ohio Turnpike System. Routing / Access to the Turnpike - Please provide routing or driving directions from the project location to the nearest interchange with the Turnpike. Direction: Take the Ohio Turnpike to the State Route 14 exit, Streetsboro, Ohio. Take State Route 14 east to State Route 303, turn right onto SR 303 westbound. Take State Route 303 to State Route 91 in Hudson, turn right onto SR 91 northbound. Take State Route 91 to the bridge over the Ohio Turnpike, end. This is the center of the project limits. Project Mapping - A project location map must be submitted for each application. Project sponsors can upload a previously generated map or create a project map using ODOT's TIMS application. Click here to go to ODOT's TIMS and generate a map. For instructions on how to generate a map in TIMS Click Here. Select a project map Hudson-Ohio Turnpike Noise Walls.pdf Turnpike Impacts & Project Benefits

Turnpike Impacts - Describe the impact the Ohio Turnpike System has on the affected location. The recent improvements (i.e. third lane improvements and the increased speed limit) to the turnpike have increased the number of noise complaints the City has received from the neighborhoods that are located adjacent to the turnpike. The City is reviewing noise mitigation alternatives for these areas in which the noise levels have increased and this funding source will provide the necessary mitigation. The two particular neighborhoods the City is requesting noise wall improvement funding for are located at approximately the same elevation as the turnpike pavement with little to no noise buffer and within 300 feet of the edge of the turnpike pavement. Project Benefits - How will the proposed project correct the impact? The proposed noise walls will provide the needed sound barrier to reduce the noise levels within these areas of the City. The walls are needed due to the limited distance to the edge of the turnpike pavement and the residential homes. The area of separation is limited in distance in order to install an earthen mound.
