INTRODUCTION Jointly organized by the International Chrysotile Association (ICA) in collaboration (partnership) with the Asbestos Cement Product Manufacturers Association (ACPMA), India. The Scientific Conference will provide information and guidance to competent authorities to producers and using countries, to industries, workers, Medias, scientists and public in general. It will permit to get updated on the recent scientific studies internationally recognized, obtain a peer reviewed on scientific evidence and best practices. Welcome to this Conference: The chrysotile world supports since several years the controlled use of chrysotile fibres in the same way it supports the controlled use of all other industrial important hazardous minerals, metal and products. Objectives are related to manage risk of products and practices where and when required. Where exposures and subsequent risk cannot, based on scientific research, be properly managed, uses are discontinued or prohibited. The future of generation in poor countries and emerging ones is related to a safe and responsible use program and people have the full right to encounter the years to come with hope and confidence.
