Photocopying Filing/record keeping for SCN Recording of specimens in reception specimen book Answering medical staff bleeps Visitors to theatre Order stationary for anaesthetic department using PECOS Organising duties for anaesthetic department orderlies Liaising/maintaining communication within directorate Minute taking for staff meetings Monthly statistics for CSM Use of theatre management system to obtain information Maintain fault reporting system with Estates Department Relaying of Clinical information and messages to medical staff Record and report any list changes and cancellations Sign in of medical representatives visiting the department Training of staff on use of Sapphire Theatre Management System Use of Trakcare system to obtain patient s results Typing of letters and documents 6 Systems and Equipment Use of computer including Microsoft outlook and word Telephones and bleep system Photocopier Laminator 7 Decisions and Judgements Organisation of anaesthetic department orderlies duties. Sending and sending back of patients to maintain smooth running of theatre lists. Maintenance of stationary stock within Anaesthetic Department 8 Communications and Relationships Maintains communication with all areas of the hospital to ensure the smooth running of theatre department and anaesthetic directorate. Patients, visitors, nursing staff, medical staff, ward clerks, maintenance department, sewing/laundry staff, x-ray, physiological measurement, electromedical, physiotherapy. Communicates complex clinical information to medical staff who are unable to leave the Operating theatre.
9 Physical Demands of the Job Essentially a desk job, but regularly takes messages throughout the department, this includes taking messages into the operating theatres. Movement of operating tables within moving and handling regulations. Movement of files and other stationery.
