T wrk shifts including weekends and public hlidays. Supply statements and attend legal prceedings as required. T attend majr incident exercises as directed by the Managers f the Trust. Administer apprpriate drugs as designated by Lcal Paramedic Steering cmmittee fr use by Registered Paramedics. Keep clear, accurate and legible recrds, reprting the relevant clinical findings, the decisins made, the infrmatin given and any drugs r treatment. Recrd where there are exceptins t, r deviatins frm, standard practice and the reasns fr ding s. All recrds must be made at the same time as the events being recrded, r as sn as pssible afterwards, using apprpriate dcumentatin. Recrds must be clear, cherent, cmprehensive, factually crrect and must maintain cnfidentiality. T maintain a satisfactry recrd f cntinuus prfessinal develpment in relatin t the Health Prfessins Cuncil. This includes maintaining yur biannual registratin. This jb descriptin is nt intended t be exhaustive and it is likely that duties may be altered frm time t time in the light f changing circumstances, in discussin with the pst-hlder and where ntice will be given as per NHS Terms and Cnditins Handbk and Trust Plicy. Because f the nature f the wrk, this pst is exempt frm the prvisin (42) f the rehabilitatin f ffenders act 1974 (Exemptins) rder 1975. Cnfidentiality / Data Prtectin / Freedm f Infrmatin Page 5 f 7 Individuals (including vlunteers, cntractrs and temprary wrkers) must maintain the cnfidentiality f infrmatin abut patients, staff and ther health service business in accrdance with the Data Prtectin Act1998. Individuals must nt, withut prir permissin, disclse any infrmatin regarding patients r staff. If any individual has cmmunicated any such infrmatin t an unauthrised persn that individual(s) culd be liable fr disciplinary actin which culd result in dismissal. Mrever, the Data Prtectin Act 1998 als renders an individual liable fr prsecutin in the event f unauthrised disclsure f infrmatin. Fllwing the Freedm f Infrmatin Act (FOI) 2005, individuals must apply the Trust s FOI prcedure. If an individual receives a written request fr infrmatin please send t FOI@yas.nhs.uk In additin managers have specific respnsibilities t ensure that their staff maintain the cnfidentiality and security f all infrmatin that is dealt with in the curse f perfrming their duties is in accrdance with the requirements f the Data Prtectin Act 1998 and the principles f Caldictt. Managers shuld als ensure that their staff are aware f their bligatins under legislatin such as the Freedm f Infrmatin Act 2000; Cmputer Misuse Act 1990, and that staff are updated with any changes r additins relevant t legislatin. Persnal Develpment The Trust is cmmitted t supprting the develpment f all staff. All emplyees have a respnsibility t participate in regular persnal develpment review (PDR) with their manager and t identify perfrmance standards fr the pst. As part f the PDR prcess emplyees have jint respnsibility with their line manager t identify any learning and develpment needs in rder t meet the agreed perfrmance standards. Health and Safety All individuals have a respnsibility, under the Health and Safety at Wrk Act (1974) and subsequently published regulatins, t ensure that the Trust s health and safety plicies and prcedures are cmplied with t maintain a safe wrking envirnment fr patients, visitrs and emplyees. All staff have a duty t prtect their wn health and safety and that f thers persns wh may be affected by their acts r missins. Infectin Preventin and Cntrl In additin managers have specific respnsibilities relating t health and safety activities including cnsenting t breaches; cnniving t breach legislatin r neglecting their duties under the legislatin. All individuals have a persnal bligatin t adhere t current guidance n methds t reduce healthcare-assciated infectins (HCAIs). Pst hlders must be familiar with the Trust s Infectin Preventin and Cntrl Plicies, including thse that apply t their duties, such as Hand Decntaminatin Plicy, Persnal Prtective Equipment Plicy, safe prcedures fr using aseptic techniques and safe dispsal f sharps. They must undertake mandatry training in Infectin Preventin and Cntrl and be cmpliant with all measures required by the Trust t reduce HCAIs. Risk Management All pst hlders have a respnsibility t reprt risks such as clinical and nn-clinical accidents r incidents prmptly. They are expected t be familiar with the Trust s use f risk assessments t predict and cntrl risk, as well as the incident reprting system fr learning frm mistakes and near misses in rder t imprve services. Pst hlders must als attend training identified by their manager, r stated by the Trust t be mandatry. All staff are respnsible fr undertaking scene specific r activity specific risk assessments fr nn YAS premises and reprting identified prblems t their line manager fr cnsideratin and reslutin.

Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Adults Pst hlders have a respnsibility fr safeguarding children and vulnerable adults in the curse f their daily duties and fr ensuring that they are aware f the specific duties relating t their rle. Smke Free Plicy The Trust perates a Smke Free Plicy which prhibits smking in the wrkplace.
