OF BLOCKS COVERED EAST 7 19 425 374 39 NORTH 7 26 598 463 24 SOUTH 4 8 179 127 6 HIGHLIGHTS FOR THE MONTH OF DECEMBER 2017: AWARENESS TRAINING: In December month we have conducted the Maternal Child Health Training for ANC Mothers, ICDS, Teachers, College Students, School Children, Nehru Yuva Kendra and general public. Trainings are also covered the topics like Govt Schemes 108, 104, CM Insurance Schemes, Food& Nutrition and Kitchen Garden. Altogether 4717 persons have attended and benefited from 89 Trainings from 28 districts in Tamilnadu. CARDIOLOGY SCREENING MEDICAL CAMP: As a next step we have conducted the Referrals follow up Cardiology Screening Medical camp on 22nd December 2017 at Thanjavur Corporation Higher Secondary School in Thanjavur District. We are screened the 66 Babies with the support of medical team from Global Health Hospital, Chennai. At last 29 Babies are identified with heart disease. KITCHEN GARDEN IN ICDS CENTRE: In December month, we have successfully implemented the Kitchen Garden in Tanjavur district. In following Months we are planning to implement the same in all the ICDS Centres in Tamilnadu.

CARITAS-UDHAYAM E CO DRR PROJECT: We have conducted the MCH Training program to SHG members in that we covered the topics like Govt Schemes 108, 104, CM Insurance Schemes, Food & Nutrition, Kitchen Garden. Out of this training around 489 persons are benefited, with support of Chengalpattu, Madras Social Service society in Tamilnadu. E-NETZWERK PROGRAM: We have celebrated the E-Netzwerk Program on 29th December at Government Medical College, Trichy. 40 treated children have attended this event along with their family members. Totally 120 Members participated in this event. This program was organized by EKAM, DEIC and Government Hospital, Trichy. The Chief Guest is Dr. Anitha, Dean, Medical College, Dr. Senthilkumar, NICU Nodal Officer, Medical College, Dr.Kalyanasundram, Paediatrics Surgeon, Dr.Vijayakumar and Paediatrics Surgeon, GKNM Hospital, Coimbatore. F A R M E R TRAINING: We have conducted the training program to the farmers in Virudhunagar & Nilagiri district in Tamilnadu. During this training we have covered topics like natural farming, Shivyog, bore well system and saving water. This effective training is given by Mr.Kannan, Farming Consultant.

LIVELIHOOD PROJECT: Our District Coordinators has been collected the 40 organic formers database in 9 districts in Tamilnadu. MATERNAL CHILD HEALTH AWARENESS TRAINING The scheduled Maternal Child Health Awareness Training for Mothers & children was held from 4th December 2017 to 9th December 2017 for first 3 days at SM Nagar, S. Boag Road ICDS centre and next 3 days at Kamarajar Colony ICDS centre. Due to this Training around 250 Mothers & their children got benefited. SUCCESS STORIES STORY OF DEVA VARSHINI Baby of Mr. Manikandan & Lakshmi named Devavarshini was diagnosed with Large sub arterial VSD restricted by RCC causing mild AR, Moderate VSD shunt left to right, VSD gradient 40 mm Hg from Kanchipuram District. Hence the child had undergone VSD Closure + Aortic Valve Repair on 8-12-2017 successfully and discharged from the hospital. The cost of the procedure was charged up to Rs. 2, 00,000/- Since the family is from poor background with the support of Ekam and other resources this operation have done successfully. Now the child is living a happy and healthy life.

STORY OF CHARVIK Child Charvik belongs to Madurai district; he was born as one of the twin and diagnosed with Cyanotic Congenital Heart Disease. Initially he was treated in Government Hospital and later referred to G. Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial Hospital by Ekam Foundation. On 2/12/2017 he had underwent BD Glenn and Litigation of MPA, for which sum of Rs. 1,60,985/- claimed under Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme and discharged from the hospital. Now he is living a normal and healthy life. STORY OF AJAI KARTHIK Ajai Karthik from Dindugul district was diagnosed to have TAPVC for which he was treated initially at Government Hospital - Madurai and later he referred to G. Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial Hospital by Ekam Foundation. On 19/12/2017 he had underwent TAPVC repair for which sum of Rs. 1,35,685/- claimed under Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme and discharged from the hospital. Now he is living a normal and healthy life. Thank you
