Marie Curie TOK & EST Fellowships Contract negotiations Negotiation Guidance Notes and Contract Preparation Forms (CPF) to be sent very soon Contract negotiation with proposals in priority list starts mid December 2003 Negotiation to start immediately and to be concluded by end of 1st quarter of 2004
Marie Curie TOK & EST Fellowships Anticipating the Negotiation Problems (i) Potential contractors should set a realistic recruitment plan depending on their capacity and capability Contractors should consider the optimum choice for the project start date of the contract to assure a smooth implementation of their recruitment/secondment plan Initial and periodic pre-financing will be based on the indicative annual breakdown of recruitment Any deviation from the mobility and travel allowance rates suggested by the EC should be well justified
Marie Curie TOK & EST Fellowships Anticipating the Negotiation Problems (ii) Any major (usually > 35%) deviation from the negotiated project plan may have serious implications in the running of the project: Number and distribution of researcher months Type of researcher allowance (stipend vs. Contract) Travel allowances... For TOK: Contractors should respect the indicative breakdown between 4-10 and >10 years of experience researchers
Marie Curie TOK & EST Fellowships Careful planning during the negotiation will: Avoid deviations from the contract at a later stage Avoid stopped payments, NB 70% rule!
