Box 369 Rustburg, VA 24588 Youth tennis classes Class dates: Tuesdays & Thursdays May 31 & June 2 June 7 & June 9 June 14 & June 16 Rain dates: June 21 & June 23 Beginner class time: 6-7 p.m. Intermediate class time: 7-8 p.m. Location: Brookville HS Tennis Courts Cost: $60 per person Ages: 3rd grade and up (must still be in high school) Registration deadline: Friday, May 20 Players may register at the Recreation Department Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Call 434-332-9570 for more information Campbell County Recreation has teamed up with Brookville HS women s tennis coach, Kendra Turner, to offer youth tennis classes for beginner and intermediate players. For more information or questions regarding classes, please contact Mrs. Turner at 434-907-0409 Beginner tennis classes are for those who have never played tennis or have limited knowledge of the game. Skills taught will include grip, body position, addressing the ball, scoring the game, and basic serve. Intermediate classes are for players who have had previous lessons or played organized tennis. Participants must be able to consistently hit the ball over the net. Equipment needed by all participants: tennis racket, hat or sun visor, sunglasses, tennis shoes (no-open toe shoes) Youth flag football The Campbell County Recreation Department is excited to offer Youth Flag Football! This new league will be sponsored by NFL Flag Play 60 and participants will receive jerseys and flag belts. Each participant will be required to have and wear a mouthpiece which will also be provided by the league. Volunteer coaches will be needed!! Games will have officials and rules will be provided to each volunteer coach. If you are interested in playing or coaching please contact the Recreation Department at 434-332-9570 Co-ed age groups: 7-8, 9-10, and 11-12 (ages as of 8/1/16) Registration dates: Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. 4:30 p.m. at the Recreation Dept. Cost: $65 per participant Season: Starts Sunday, August 7 and ends Sunday, October 30 (all practices and games will be on Sundays starting at 2 p.m.) Teams: Participants will sign up for the area and school they attend. Youth athletics Thursday, June 23, 2016 6:00 p.m. Brookville High School Track Cost: $5.00 per participant Maximum of 2 running events & events must be chosen at registration Deadline to register: Friday, June 10, 2016 Register at the Recreation Office Monday-Friday 8:30-4:30 Events Include: Long Jump, 50 meter hurdles, 100 meters, 200 meters, 400 meters, 800 meters, 4x100 relay Age Groups (Boys & Girls): 1st/2nd Grade, 3rd/4th Grade and 5th/6th Grade Participants must wear running shorts, t-shirt and running shoes no open toe shoes or bare feet will be allowed. Spring Break Track Camp Ages: 1 st - 6 th Grade Fee: $10.00 per participant Days: Monday through Friday Dates: March 28 th April 1 st Times: 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm Site: Rustburg Middle School Track Deadline to register: Friday, March 18, 2016 The Campbell County Recreation Department will hold an Elementary School Age Track Camp the week of Spring Break. Participants must wear running shorts, t-shirts and running shoes- no open toe shoes or bare feet. Participants will learn proper running form, basic techniques of the different track events (long jump, triple jump, high jump, shot put, discus, hurdles, 50 and 200 meters and relays). Participants must register at the Recreation Office. Men's Spring Softball Men s Church (Mondays beginning April 11) Men s Independent (Thursdays beginning April 14) Fees: $375.00 per team($100.00 refundable forfeit fee) Registration Dates: February 15, 2016-March 25, 2016 Team Limits: Independent-6; Church 6 Registration is on a first come, first serve basis. Fee includes balls provided by CCRD. Adult League Application form must accompany league fees. To qualify in this league, at least one half of the team members must live or work in Campbell County. Rosters must be turned in to the Recreation Office prior to first game. Current students MUST register for the upcoming session by the last class date of the current session or come by the Recreation office to register for upcoming classes. New students must register at the Recreation office. If your name does not appear on the class roll, you will not be allowed in class.

Campbell County Recreation Department is pleased to offer the Yellow Branch Challenger League. The team plays each Tuesday and Thursday from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Yellow Branch Elementary School. This program inspires individual athletic strength encouraging players to develop friendships in a family oriented setting. This league is a volunteer program specifically for individuals ages 6 and up, who are intellectually and/or physically challenged. Saturday, May 7 at 10:00 a.m. Long Mountain Park (off of Rt. 24 at Bear Creek Rd.) Age groups: 7/8, 9/10, 11/12, and 13/14 (as of 7/17/16) Pre-registration is required by Friday, April 29. NAYS Soccer Coaches Training (Initial Level) This training is for all Campbell County Recreation Department Youth Soccer Coaches. It is provided by the National Alliance for Youth Sports. Coaches who successfully complete the Initial Level Membership training will automatically receive: a youth sports journal, a certificate of completion, $1,000,000 excess liability insurance, membership card, exclusive online member area, annual subscription to Sporting Kid magazine, a monthly newsletter and exclusive corporate discount/programs.
