Fraternal Order of Eagles Willamette Aerie & Auxiliary No. 2081 The Eagle Beak Salem, Oregon Published monthly August 2017 Worthy President Welcome to a new year at the Salem Eagles Aerie 2081. My name is Dennis Bierman and I am honored tp be your new Worthy President. Let us hope that this year brings success to our lodge but we need your support to make it happen. YOU TALK, WE'LL LISTEN! What is it you want and expect from our Aerie? What activities would you like to see and participate in? We offer Bingo, Karaoke, dinner, drinks, state controlled gaming machines, pool, poker, and dancing to different bands offering country and classic rock on different nights. Did you know that the 3rd Friday of every month we feature a 10 piece dance band performing music of the big band era? Where else in Salem can you have such a variety of musical sounds! But we need your input and support. Email me at dbiierman@aol.com with suggestions as to what you would like to see at the club. We'll take every suggestion seriously and if its feasible work towards adding the event(s). YOU TALK, WE'LL LISTEN! Also, bring your ideas to our meetings. Remember, Aerie 2081 now meets twice a month on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday, 7 PM. Come and be heard. Meet new friends and renew old acquaintances. Also, now is the time to renew your membership if you haven't already done so. Trustee s Corner We are having a visit from he Grand Worthy President Tom McGrath and our State Worthy President Carl Wilson on Wednesday August 9. We hope to see everyone there. As you may know the offer on the sale of the building fell through. We still have the building for sale but do not have a buyer at this time. If you have any concerns pertaining to the Salem lodge please bring them to the s on Tuesdays at 6:00 p.m. We are always looking for volunteers. If you are interested in volunteering talk to any officer. Junior Past Worthy President Brothers and Sisters, our lodge is in a financial situation and needs your HELP. Our membership is getting smaller and smaller every day. Participation in activities such as special events, dances and social doings is way down. Before we get to the point where the decisions within this lodge are no longer governed by the membership of this lodge we need to all make more of an effort to come together and help our lodge survive. We all worked together through 50/50 donations etc. towards a charity that I felt needed our help, and requested that the money we raised be designated to help those within our own community. However after several attempts to get Operation Home Front to accept the monies raised during my term as president on those terms; they still insist on putting it thru their local area. I realize most of you who bought 50-50 tickets did so to support that organization but since the terms on which my charity was chosen cannot be realized I feel our own lodge is in greater need of the money at this time and have decided to donate it to the upkeep of our lodge. If I donate it to our lodge it will benefit all of us by putting it in the general fund to help keep our lodge afloat. The amount of this transaction is $3,729.50. I ask for your approval in making the change to my charity but if you have any reservations with that please let me know personally and we will discuss it. I will not take any action on moving this money until after notice of this has been made to the members. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Sandi Keen for donating all of the proceeds from her production of Summertime is Rockin to the lodge as a gesture of support. Also thanks to all who participated and supported it. If you know of someone who has dropped out or has just forgotten to pay their dues please encourage them to reenroll. Fraternally, Ron Weathers Eagle Moto People Helping People
