Korea Seed & Variety Service To provide participants with the opportunity to acquire knowledge, skill, techniques required to examine new variety To enhance understanding, awareness and overall knowledge on PVP system To share experiences and knowledge on introduction and operation of PVP in Korea To build personnel capacity of participating countries to introduce and develop PVP system To assist participating countries in introducing and developing PVP system

To help participants understand PVP system and it s impact better - particular for participants from non PVP countries To give a excellent presentation based on expertise To operate program efficiently - to give a more opportunity to practice and discuss by forming sub-group in practice class - to add study visit/field tour in program for improving effectiveness and refreshing participants

To operate more interactive class - transform one-way presentation to two-way discussion To extend program period to 3-4 weeks - Short period of time compared to contents To allocate more time for practice - DUS examination, Lab course To set up more study visit(field tour) class - Study visit : seed/variety/agriculture related site Seed company, research institution, gene bank - field tour : culture related site To develop secondary(intensified) course To give more openings to persons for awareness enhancement To continue program as long as KOICA support - 2010 : July 1 ~ July 16 (16 days), 16 persons from 8 nations * Cambodia, Guatemala, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Philippines, Tanzania, Tunisia, Zambia - Future : 3~4 weeks course Training program - PVP system, DUS examination, BMT, etc. - Study visit Seed/variety/agriculture related site, Seed company, research institution, gene bank - Field tour : cultural experience site - Evaluation
