Candidates must meet the following criteria: be a graduating senior at Lake Stevens High School/Homelink; be a person of satisfactory academic standing; have a history of active involvement in school, school sports, and/or community activities; write a brief, but moving essay explaining how your passions fit into your career choice or what your motivations are; scholarship to be awarded to a student pursuing a career in art, drawing, music, creative writing, or related field. Candidates must meet the following criteria: be a graduating senior at Lake Stevens High School; be a person of satisfactory academic standing; have a history of active involvement in school and community activities; obtain a minimum of 90 hours of community service; priority will be given to students having community service with five (5) or more organizations; graduate with minimum 2.5 GPA. SCHOLARSHIP: Keith Eide Memorial Scholarship REQUIREMENTS: The applicant for this scholarship: will be a senior in high school or a university student who is studying or planning to study Music or Music Education as his/her major in a 4 year college or university; has shown a particular interest in and aptitude for concert band literature; is interested in enriching, entertaining and educating audiences regarding the literature of concert bands. SCHOLARSHIP: Young American Creative Patriotic Art Scholarship https://vfwauxiliary.org/scholarships/young-american-creative-patriotic-art-contest/ REQUIREMENTS: Who is Eligible to Apply? Any student in grades 9-12 who is enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school or home study program in the United States; maximum student age of 18 at time of local entry; student must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. national; applicant does not have to be related to a VFW or VFW Auxiliary member to participate, but the student must attend school in the same state as the sponsoring VFW Auxiliary. SCHOLARSHIP: The James R. Hoffa Memorial Fund-2017 Training and Vocational Programs Scholarship REQUIREMENTS: Scholarships awarded on the basis of a comprehensive process. Scholarship winners are awarded training and vocational scholarships, training or vocational programs must be related to work in a Teamster-represented industry, class or craft. Applicants must be son, daughter or financial dependent of a Teamster member who is in good standing in the Union; plan to attend an accredited training or vocational non-baccalaureate program at a community college, or other training institution. SCHOLARSHIP: Seattle Post and the Puget Sound Engineering & Science Scholarship (PSESSF) www.psessf.org REQUIREMENTS: There are two scholarship pools with a common application. For the SAME High School Scholarship Program, scholarships will be awarded to graduating High School Seniors that will be attending an accredited college or university in the fall of 2017. The student must be accepted in a full time program of study towards a bachelor s degree in engineering, science or related fields. For the PSESSF Program, the student must be accepted into a full-time program of study towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in engineering, science, technology, or a related field. April 1, 2017 REQUIREMENTS: Scholarship is open to graduating seniors planning to attend a four-year university or institution in the Fall. You must attend and be graduating from a high school in Snohomish, King, Pierce or Thurston Counties; have cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above; write a 250 word essay about yourself and your future plans; 2 letters of recommendation; be able to attend the 2016-2017 Colors of Success Scholarship Banquet on June 3, 2017. SCHOLARSHIP: Lake Stevens Lions Club Community Service Scholarship April 12, 2017 REQUIREMENTS: Lake Stevens Lions Club wants to reward those students graduating from Lake Stevens High School who are seeking higher education and have shown a heart for community service. Students who have shown a desire to serve their Lake Stevens community or a greater community, but sustained dedication to a project or activity will be given high consideration for these scholarships. SCHOLARSHIP: Lake Stevens Arts Commission Scholarship April 14, 2017 REQUIREMENTS: The Lake Stevens Arts Commission is offering a student scholarship to any graduating Lake Stevens High School senior interested in continuing their education. This scholarship is in recognition of a student excelling in the arts and maintaining a solid academic record with a desire to continue their education. Applicants must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher to qualify. The scholarship is a onetime grant that may be used for any accredited college, university or institute. See application for details. Students applying must meet the following eligibility criteria: Be an African American male or female student and a U.S. citizen at the time they apply: demonstrate financial need; demonstrate leadership; demonstrate achievement in academics; be involved in service to the African American community; be graduating from high school; be accepted into an accredited institution of higher learning for the coming school year, a 4-year college or university; reside within Greater Seattle (WA) Chapter s geographic and service areas (King, Snohomish, Kitsap, Clallam and Jefferson counties). Two $2,500 scholarships will be awarded to a Washington student enrolling, or currently enrolled, in an Automotive Technology program in Washington. Eligibility: Only high school seniors enrolled in a Washington State public or private high school, as well as those who are home-schooled and reside in Washington State, are eligible to enter. SCHOLARSHIP: Diabetes Scholar Foundation Scholarship http://diabetesscholars.org/college-scholarship/ April 15, 2017 REQUIREMENTS: The Diabetes Scholars Foundation s college scholarship program is available to incoming freshmen with type 1 diabetes and who are US citizens or permanent residents seeking a higher education at an accredited four year university, college, technical or trade school. This scholarship recognizes students who have high academic performance, are actively involved in the diabetes community, participate in community and/or extra-curricular activities and who have demonstrated that they are successfully managing the challenges of living with diabetes. SCHOLARSHIP: Rotary Club of Lake Stevens Scholarship April 19, 2017 REQUIREMENTS: The Rotary Club of Lake Stevens Scholarships and the Sam Low Rotary Club of Lake Stevens Scholarship are awarded each year to graduating Lake Stevens High School seniors who exemplify the qualities of a good citizen.
