Alumni Weekend 2017 June 1-4 Please note that this schedule and listed locations are tentative and subject to change. Thursday, June 1, 2017 10 a.m. 6 p.m. Alumni Weekend Registration Center 11 a.m. F&M Golf Outing Join fellow alumni and friends for an afternoon of golf at the Four Seasons Golf Club, this par 70 mature course is easy to walk and visually appealing. Four Seasons is just a short 6.6 miles from campus in Landisville. Registration is limited; $50 includes a round of golf, cart and box lunch. This isn t the dining hall you remember more variety, more healthy alternatives (if you want it!) and ice cream and none of those big trays to lug around. A relaxing and casual atmosphere to kick off the weekend. 1:30 4:30 p.m. F&M ALUMNI COLLEGE The Alumni College is a series of interesting and informative presentations highlighting the work of F&M faculty and alumni who are prominent in their field. 1:30 2:30 p.m. Presentation by Nina Kollars, Ph.D., assistant professor of Government Professor Kollars' scholarship examines the innovative practices of U.S. soldiers in war, and organizational responses to that creativity. Prior to her Ph.D., she worked as an analyst at the Federal Research Division of the Library of Congress, a researcher for the World Bank, and has authored several reports on terrorism. 2:30 3:30 p.m. ESOP plus benefit corporation: Synergies that build ownership culture and benefit accountability, Nancy Kurland, associate professor of Organization Studies. A benefit corporation is a new legal form that requires for-profit companies to focus on stakeholders in addition to shareholders when making decisions. It, along with employee ownership, are forms of stakeholder capitalism. My research examines the synergy between employee ownership and benefit corporate organizational forms. 1

2:30 3:30 p.m. Presentation by Fronefield Crawford, Ph.D., associate professor of Physics and Weis College House Don. Dr. Crawford teaches physics and astronomy at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum as well as an energy and environment course for the non-scientist. 1:30 3 p.m. Rainbow Reflections: Panel & Discussion with LGBTQ Identified Alumni Join the newly formed F&M LGBTQ Alumni Council for a panel and discussion with LGBTQ identified alumni from a variety of class years, identities, experiences, and journeys! The panelists will share their thoughts and insights and then the floor will be open for attendees to engage in a meaningful discussion and Q&A. Bonchek Lecture Hall, Barshinger Life Sciences & Philosophy Building 1:30 2:30 p.m. Squash Open House Meet the Squash coach and tour the Squash facility. 1:30-3:30 p.m. Little Dippers Carnival Families are invited to gather on the Green for fun in the sun! Join in on the games and activities brought to you by OSPGD s Alumni Advising & Development Division. 1:30 4 p.m. Black Cultural Center Open House All are welcome to stop by and reconnect with friends and classmates. Families welcome! 2-3:30 p.m. Class of 2012 Taste of Your Hometown The class of 2012 invites fellow classmates to bring your favorite adult beverage to share with fellow classmates and friends as you reminisce about your college days and your time at F&M! Porterfield, Ph.D. hosts a reception for all alumni and their families, F&M faculty and coaches. Registration required. 6:30 p.m. Alumni Weekend Blue & White Bash An all alumni and guest celebration with great food and beverages. Enjoy the sounds of the Ken Gehret Duo during dinner and then dance the night away with the music of the Uptown Band, playing the best 60 s, 70 s, 80 s and 90 s music. Grab your classmates and head to the photo booth to capture your memories and don t miss the chocolate fountains! Year after year, the best dessert bar around! Alumni are seated by class and decade so you can catch up with old and new friends and share in the F&Mily tradition. 8 11 p.m. Quiet Gathering Need a break from the music and celebration, you can find it in a relaxing space not too far from the action. Coffee and Dessert available. 8:30 11:30 p.m. F&M Photobooth Visit the F&M Photobooth at the Blue & White Bash to take home commemorative photos with a selection of Franklin & Marshall gear and props.
