1. Basic Function and Scope: The primary duty of the Inspector is to monitor the mechanical condition and integrity of plant equipment and facilities in their assigned area. This is done by conducting internal, external, corrosion under insulation (CUI) and area inspections as scheduled. The Inspector monitors the execution of mechanical work in progress to ensure its compliance with applicable codes and standards. The Inspector verifies that proper materials and procedures are used for the work being performed and evaluates the work using appropriate nondestructive examination (NDE) techniques when necessary or when required by specific codes and standards. 2. Tasks and Duties: a) PROCESS SAFETY MANAGEMENT: Safety is a core value issue for the Mechanical Inspector that overrides production and schedule considerations. It includes personal safety of the people assigned to the start-up, shutdowns or special daily activities as well as operational/process safety. i. Learns all safety policies and rules and understands all safety regulations as well as the information contained in Safety Standards Procedures. ii. Perform a personal behavior audit according to the schedule defined by the department. Attends the monthly safety meetings and taking corrective action on items assigned. iii. Member of area HAZOP team, if assigned. Be fully familiar with HAZOP process. iv. Review all deviation procedures.

v. Participate in Accident / Incident Investigation Committees as required and recommend corrective action. vi. Participate in conducting PSSR, as assigned. b) QUALITY: i. Ensure the quality of the inspection and maintenance activities carried out prior to any system handover to operations as requested. ii. Ensure that the Inspection Quality critical procedures are used. Modifies such procedures as necessary. iii. Ensures compliance to the Sipchem Quality Policy and ISO-9002 & ISO 14001 procedures. Carries out ISO-9002 internal audits, as assigned, and develops plans for Corrective Action Reports. Follow up on completion of corrective actions. c) PRODUCTION AND COST: 1. The major jobs for inspector: The following is a general description of the responsibilities of the Inspector in relation to routine maintenance activities: i. Monitor the execution of mechanical work by witnessing and evaluating testing activities such as NDE, hydrostatic testing, and positive material identification ii. Evaluate compliance to specific requirements of the job such as painting, insulation, civil, etc. iii. Monitor contractor NDE services iv. Monitor contractor inspection activities and conduct welding quality control check regularly v. Conduct all inspection programs such as external, internal and CUI inspections for static equipment

vi. Preparing the required information for updating the RBI analysis vii. Approve all locations for hot taps viii. Document and report inspection findings ix. Document all repairs of static equipment x. Perform inspection for pipe corridor xi. Perform audits for SABTAK. 2. Maintenance Turnarounds Activities and Projects The following is a general description of the responsibilities of an Inspector relating to specific projects and turnarounds. i. Provide input for the development of the maintenance forecast and T/A work lists ii. Participate in planning and review meetings iii. Conduct quality control activities or oversee contractor's quality control activities iv. Conduct internal and external inspections v. Monitor all NDE activities vi. Compile inspection data and issuing an equipment condition report vii. Update individual equipment histories d) Behavior and Self Development: 1. Has complete understanding of post qualification process. Review and discuss all Inspection procedures with all Inspection personnel to ensure correct understanding. 2. Develop training material & questionnaire for SMP and Post Qualification training, and changes to Inspection Post Qualification manual. 3. Work closely with the training coordinator and provide on the job training and spend enough time to train assigned personnel ensuring effectiveness. 4. Hold regular discussions with the team members to improve their overall skills. Identify deficiencies and arrange refresher training through the Maintenance Training Coordinator.

5. Present selected sections of training courses as per training schedule. 3. Training, Qualification, and Certification Requirements: a) Experience and Education Requirements To be considered for the position of Inspector, the employee shall meet the following skill and knowledge criteria: - High school diploma or equivalent - Five (5) years inspection work or related experience in the petrochemical industry - Fundamental written and verbal communication skills as well as basic computer skills - Working knowledge of required codes and standards - Certification of visual acuity b) Qualification and Certification To be considered for the position of Inspector, the employee must have at least one of the following certifications (those certifications that the employee does not have should be included in his individual training plan): AWS-CWI Section 6.1 of the AWS Standard for Qualification and Certification of Welding Inspectors, Latest Edition API 510 American Petroleum Institute (API) Pressure Vessel Inspection Code API 570 API Piping Inspection Code API 653 API Tank Inspection Code SNT-TC-1A NDE Level I in Dye Penetrant (PT), Radiographic Testing (RT), Ultrasonic Testing (UT), and Visual Testing (VT) in accordance with the Sipchem Plant Inspection Manual (KPIM). Inspectors that are not yet certified/qualified in a particular discipline may perform these inspections under the direct supervision of a senior inspector or inspector who is certified in that particular discipline. c) Training Each inspector should have an individual training plan, which has been developed by his Section-Manager. The training plans will be reviewed formally and approved by the Inspection Department Section-Manager and then submitted to the Sipchem Training Department. i. The training plans will be maintained by the Section-Manager and updated on an annual basis

ii. The status of current qualifications, training, and certifications for each inspector will be maintained by the Inspection superintendent in a central file in the Sipchem Inspection Document Room 4. Work Contacts: Frequent contacts mainly at own level with Inspection Section-Manager to provide training, exchange information, explain, discuss and coordinate work. Obtain assistance on problems and coordinate work. Periodic contacts with equipment manufacturers, by correspondence, to obtain information and update manuals. Periodic contacts with contractors to explain work requirements, and occasional contacts with contractors to explain work requirements, and occasional contacts with local materials suppliers and manufacturers to evaluate capabilities. Regular contacts with Operations and maintenance supervisory and specialist staff regarding problems related to machinery and equipment. 5. Independence of Operation: Works in accordance with established policies, procedures and engineering standards, in the identification and development of detailed routines, programs and procedures for Mechanical maintenance. Recommends changes in procedures and standards as required. Operates with a considerable degree of independence keeping supervisor advised of work activities and progress on a regular basis, reporting any significant problems and recommending investigations, plans and paperwork for approval. 6. Supervisory Responsibility: None. 7. Physical Effort: Walking, standing with occasional climbing for 70% of the work time, and sitting for 30% of the work time. Utilizes specialized measuring equipment. 8. Work Conditions:

Exposed to dirt, grease, oil, noise, machinery and chemical fumes, vibration, and seasonal heat in semi air conditioned areas or outside, depending on work, for approximately 70% of work time.
