Resolution 03-04/1 Whereas Jonathan Majiyagbe, President of Rotary International 2003-2004, has designated Mr. Jerry J. Barden as his personal representative to this Ninetieth Annual Conference of District 5020 and Whereas through the inspiration and leadership of this outstanding representative, this Conference has been enriched in both knowledge and spirit, now therefore be it Resolved the Rotarians of the Rotary International District 5020, assembled in this their Annual Conference at, Canada, extend to this distinguished Rotarian, Mr. Jerry J. Barden, Director, Rotary International, 1995-1997, their sincere thanks and appreciation for attendance at this Conference and for the sincere and dedicated manner in which he has expressed to us the ideals and objectives of Rotary and for the inspirational messages he has delivered to us during the sessions of this Conference. Resolution 03-04/2 Whereas the people of the Wei Wai Kum Nation have graciously welcomed the Ninetieth Annual Conference of Rotary International District 5020 into their traditional territory and extended that welcome to the Rotarians and their spouses and partners from across the District, let it now therefore be at this Ninetieth Conference, be extended to Chief Aubrey Roberts, his Council and the Wei Wai Kai People for their excellent hospitality which has been enjoyed by all. 1

Resolution 03-04/3 Whereas the City of Campbell River has hosted the Ninetieth Annual Conference of Rotary International District 5020 and warmly welcomed Rotarians and their spouses and partners from across the District, let it now therefore be at this Ninetieth Conference, be extended to the City of Campbell River for the excellent hospitality which has been enjoyed by all Resolution 03-04/4 Whereas the Campbell River Visitor Information Centre has given excellent support to the Ninetieth Annual Conference of Rotary International District 5020 by providing registration services to the conference and tourism information to Rotarians and their spouses and partners who have attended the conference, let it now therefore be at this Ninetieth Conference, be extended to the Campbell River Visitor Information Centre for the excellent service to Rotary, to the District, and to this Conference and those who have attended it. 2

Resolution 03-04/5 Whereas the Rotarians of the Rotary International District 5020, assembled in the Ninetieth Annual Conference at, Canada,, have been privileged to have been faithfully served by Scotty MacLaren, Conference Chairman, Vice Chairs Barry Henshall and Mike McVea, and the District Conference Committee, we express our appreciation and extend to them our thanks for dedicated and exemplary service, now therefore be it at this Ninetieth Conference, be extended to these individuals for the excellent manner in which this Conference has been arranged and for the sincere hospitality and fellowship which has been enjoyed by all through their efforts Resolution 03-04/6 Whereas the Rotary Club of Campbell River and the Rotary Club of Campbell River - Daybreak, have coordinated their efforts to provide the 5,200+ members of District 5020 with an outstanding Conference, now therefore be it at this Ninetieth Conference, be extended to these two Rotary Clubs for the excellent manner in which this Conference has been arranged and for the sincere hospitality and fellowship which has been enjoyed by all through their efforts. 3

Resolution 03-04/7 Whereas Rotarians of the Rotary International District 5020, assemble each year to promote Rotary through good fellowship and inspiration, and Whereas the Rotarians of the Area 3 clubs of Chemainus, Duncan, Duncan Daybreak, Ladysmith, Salt Spring Island and South Cowichan have agreed to host the Ninety-First Annual Conference in the City of Duncan, British Columbia, Canada, June 3-5, 2005, let it now therefore be Resolved that the Ninety-First Annual Conference for Rotary International District 5020 be held at Duncan, British Columbia, Canada, June 3-5, 2005. Resolution 03-04/8 Whereas Rotary International District 5020 has been privileged to have an outstanding District Governor, William J. McCarthy, who has set an example for all of us to follow in promoting Rotary and enhancing the effectiveness of the District and Rotary Clubs therein, and Whereas Bill and his ever supportive wife Karen, have willingly devoted countless hours to serving District 5020 and to promoting this year=s Rotary International theme ALend a Hand@ along with the theme of the District ABe an Inspiration,@ and Whereas District 5020 wishes to express its thanks and appreciation for their outstanding service to District 5020 and to Rotary International, now therefore be it Resolved that the Rotary International District 5020 extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to Bill and Karen McCarthy for their dedication and skillful leadership in serving District 5020 as District Governor and District Governor=s partner. 4

Resolution 03-04/9 Whereas Rotary International District 5020 has been privileged to have outstanding officers in the year 2003-2004 who have been inestimable value to the Governor and the Clubs with their support in promoting Rotary and enhancing the effectiveness of the District, these persons being P.D.G. J. Ross White (2002-2003); D.G.E. Dick Drew; D.G.N. Joan Firkins; Secretary Daryl Schei; Treasurer Bill Taylor; Trainer Ross White; and Assembly Chair Shirley Walker; and Whereas District 5020 wishes to express its thanks and appreciation for their outstanding services to District 5020 and to Rotary International, now therefore be it Resolved that the Rotary International District 5020 extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to these officers for their dedication and skillful initiative while serving the District Resolution 03-04/10 Whereas responding with dedication to the position of Assistant Governor (AG) in the service of the District and its Governor, the 12 areas of District 5020, one of the largest Rotary Districts in the World, has been faithfully served by the Assistant Governors herein named: Area 1 - Layne Marshal; Area 2A - Ian Dewar; Area 2B - Joanne Young and Paul Geneau; Area 3 - Alan Lomax; Area 4 - Joan Firkins; Area 4A, Ken Walton; Area 4B, Garth Dunn; Area 5 - Larry Howland and Jim Pickett; Area 6 - Brian Beagle; Area 7 - Richard Zamjahn and Becky Morgan; Area 8 - Ted Wier; Area 9A -Blase Gorney and Gerry Ring-Erickson; Area 9B - Tom Hanson and Paul Randall; Area 10 - Ed Butler and Alex Alexander, and Whereas we wish to thank these District 5020 officials for their enthusiasm and great service to District 5020, Governor McCarthy and each of the Clubs in their area, therefore be it Resolved that Rotary International District 5020 extends its sincere thanks and appreciation for their dedication and skillful leadership in serving the District and the Governor. 5

Resolution 03-04/11 Whereas Rotary International District 5020 has been served with dedication by the Service Chairs, these being: Community Service - Dwan Bowen; Club Service - John Armenia; Vocational Service - Wayne Beckwith; International Service - Lee Hansen and Jan Teague; Foundation Committee - Al Brooks; Scholarship Committee - Robert Cairns; Nomination Committee - Don Lachata; Group Study Exchange - Judy Byron; Youth Exchange - Bill and Marny Hannan; World Community Service - James Leamy; and Finance Committee - Brian Rodgers; Communication - Bonnie McDade and Hank Mann-Sykes; and Whereas those named have willingly devoted many hours guiding District 5020 in its efforts to accomplish obligations described by Rotary International and have exhibited outstanding purposefulness toward the attainment of these goals by District 5020, now therefore be it Resolved that Rotary International District 5020 extend its sincere thanks and appreciation to the Chairs named for their dedicated and exemplary service. Resolution 03-04/12 Whereas Rotary International District 5020 has been served with dedication by Don Bonner as Webmaster be it Resolved that Rotary International District 5020 extend its sincere thanks and appreciation for his dedicated and skillful service. 6

Resolution 03-04/13 Whereas Rotary International District 5020 has been served with dedication by Jim Swift as List Server Manager be it Resolved that Rotary International District 5020 extend its sincere thanks and appreciation for his dedicated and skillful service. Resolution 03-04/14 Whereas Rotary International District 5020 has been served with dedication by Bob Lloyd and Don Bonner as Editors of the District Directory be it Resolved that Rotary International District 5020 extend its sincere thanks and appreciation for their dedicated and skillful service. Resolution 03-04/15 Whereas the Rotary International District 5020 Nominating Committee has chosen Dick Drew to serve as District Governor for the 2004-2005 term, therefore be it Resolved that Rotary International District 5020 members support Dick Drew as District Governor, 2004-2005, with the full resources and energies of the District and its members. 7

Resolution 03-04/16 Whereas the Rotary International District 5020 Nominating Committee has chosen Joan Firkins to serve as District Governor for 2005-2006 term, therefore be it Resolved that upon election by Rotary International Joan Firkins will serve as District Governor for Rotary International District 5020 for 2005-2006. Resolution 03-04/17 Whereas the Rotary International District 5020 Nominating Committee has chosen Erik Fredrickson to serve as District Governor for the 2006-2007 term, therefore be it Resolved that Erik Fredrickson will serve as District Governor for Rotary International District 5020 for the 2006-2007 term. Resolution 03-04/18 Whereas the Rotary International District 5020 has been served with dedication by all of its Club Presidents for the past Rotary Year, be it Resolved that Rotary International District 5020 extend its sincere thanks and appreciation for their dedicated and skillful service. 8
