7:30 p.m. Game Time! Barton Bulldogs vs. UNC Tarheels Dean Smith Center, Chapel Hill In the year of the 10th anniversary of our championship, it s perfect we should face off against another champion. The Bulldogs take on the Tarheels in this preseason game for both teams. See previous page for information on the Pre-Game Pep Rally and Dinner to be held before the game. Barton vs. UNC game tickets are available directly from UNC; see parking and ticket information on the previous page. 8:30 p.m. Alumni Social Center Campus With a DJ providing the music, dancing and socializing is in the plan for the evening. 10 p.m. Greek Challenge Headcount Center Campus Delta Zeta won in 2016 with a big turnout. Alpha Sigma Phi had their strongest turnout yet, and almost pulled off the first fraternity win. What happens in 2017? Phi Mu is celebrating their 50th anniversary. Will it mark a major comeback?

The Alumni Association will present the 2017 annual awards to the following: Distinguished Alumni Award Russell Rawlings 78, Alumni Achievement Awards Linda Hanna Walling 72 and Leigh Liles Foushee 97, and Outstanding Recent Graduate Award Luke Constanza 14. The Gary W. Hall Employee Service Award will be presented to Summer Brock. 11:15 a.m. Reception for Award Recipients Kennedy Family Theatre Bridgestone Americas Atrium Congratulate this year s alumni award recipients at this light reception before lunch. Noon Phi Mu 50th Anniversary Tea Tent in Willis N. Hackney Library Lot The women of Phi Mu and Sigma Tau Chi will recognize the 50th Anniversary of the founding of their chapter, special anniversaries, memorials, and memories at this special tea. Class of 1967 50th Reunion Luncheon Hardy Alumni Hall Members of the Class of 1967 celebrate their 50th Reunion with a special gathering. During lunch, check out past editions of the Pine Knot, reminisce about college days, reconnect with classmates and make new memories to cherish.

Join classmates for lunch and fun times as they celebrate their 54th Reunion! It s a great chance to catch up as well as see what s new on campus. Women s Soccer Barton College Athletic Complex The Lady Bulldogs take on the Tornado of King University in the final home game of the season. 12:30 p.m. Alpha Sigma Phi Meeting Hamlin Student Center, Theater Members of Alpha Sigma Phi gather for their annual meeting before Tailgating. 50 s, 50 s, 50 s! Kennedy Family Theatre Bridgestone Americas Atrium Not into the swing of tailgating? Prefer a quieter spot to visit and reminisce with friends? The Kennedy Family Theatre is the perfect spot for you. With its glass front view of Howard Chapel, the Bridgestone Americas Atrium will welcome you with refreshments and a light lunch for a leisurely afternoon.

1 p.m. Lands Seen and Unseen Art Exhibition Barton Art Galleries Lands Seen and Unseen, recent paintings by artist James Stanley, will be on view in the Barton Art Galleries during Homecoming Weekend and through November 21st. Stanley s work is figurative and deals with personal culture and identity. As the Artist-in-Residence for fall 2017, he will be spending his time at Barton College working with students and community members. Stanley received his MFA in painting from Columbia University. His work has been shown widely, including solo and group exhibitions at Freight & Volume Gallery in New York, Kinkead Contemporary in Los Angeles, Andrew Rafacz Gallery in Chicago, Frederic Snitzer Gallery in Miami, and Mark Selwyn Fine Art in Los Angeles. His 2011 exhibition, Let It Burn, was cited by the Huffington Post as one of the Top 10 Painting Shows in the United States. Stanley is an alumnus of the Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture and was awarded a Sharpe-Walentas Studio Program fellowship and a fellowship from The Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown, where he now serves as program coordinator. He is a faculty member of The Rhode Island School of Design and Brown University, and lives on Cape Cod.

1 p.m. Alumni Basketball Game Wilson Gymnasium Get a look at the men s basketball team for 2017-2018 as they take on basketball alumni in this Homecoming contest. With the 2007 championship team on campus, this scrimmage will give the team a pre-season challenge! Saturday Afternoon LIVE! The Sam and Marjorie Ragan Writing Center Classes of 1970-1975 get together to reminiscence about those fun days at A.C.C. Share your memories during this fun afternoon. Cool refreshing beverages, spirited and non, will be available. Alumnae Softball Game Jeffries Field, Barton Athletic Complex Grab your glove and head out to the field. All softball alumnae are invited to play. Missing your yearbook? Pine Knots up to 1994 available at Tailgating.

2 p.m. Men s Soccer Barton College Athletic Complex The Bulldogs face off in a conference match-up against the Tornado of King University. Tailgating Lawn in front of Wenger Hall Raise your pop-up tent, grab your friends, and enjoy the social scene tailgating provides. Grills cook up wings, steaks, and more. Get in on the relaxing afternoon of conversation and reconnecting. 3 p.m. Theatre at Barton Presents! Kennedy Family Theatre The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (Abridged) parodies the plays of Shakespeare with all of them being performed (in comically shortened or merged form) by only three actors. Improvisation plays an important role, and it is normal for the actors to deviate from the script and have spontaneous conversations about the material with each other and the audience. It has become one of the world s most popular shows, and Barton is proud to present this production for Homecoming Weekend.

5 p.m. Athletic Hall of Fame Reception Tent on East Campus Suites Lawn Share your favorite Atlantic Christian and Barton College sports moments, and meet the 2017 inductees. 5:30 p.m. Bulldog Club and Athletic Hall of Fame Dinner Tent on East Campus Suites Lawn The Athletic Hall of Fame will have three additions to the Athletic Hall of Fame for 2017 in celebration of the 10th anniversary of the NCAA Men s Basketball Championship. Those to be inducted are Alejo Barovera, Anthony Atkinson, and Coach Ron Lievense. They will join the 139 members already enshrined. This is a ticketed event. 8 p.m. Fantasy! Tent in the Willis N. Hackney Library Lot With music to keep you dancing all night long, Fantasy returns with their great mix of musical styles and sounds. 9 p.m. Crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen Tent in the Willis N. Hackney Library Lot Dr. and Mrs. Douglas N. Searcy will crown the 2017 Homecoming King and Queen. Be there to see who takes the crown this year.

Sunday October 29 10 a.m. Service of Worship and Celebration Parish Plaza First Christian Church of Wilson joins Barton for this special Homecoming worship. Led by the Reverend Jamie Eubanks, College Chaplain, and the Reverend Gary Walling, senior minister of the First Christian Church in Wilson, with the assistance of alumni and current students, this celebration of Atlantic Christian and Barton College is a fitting end to your weekend. 2 p.m. Alumni Baseball Game Nixon Field, Barton Athletic Complex If you lettered as a varsity player, you are eligible to play in this terrific game! Batting practice begins at 1 p.m. Game starts at 2 p.m. Bring your glove and get ready to play.
