from the dean Dear Corporate Partner, I am excited about the upcoming annual conference of the National Association of Engineering Student Councils, which will be hosted this spring at Arizona State University. Our mission at ASU s Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering is not limited to the work we do in the classroom. Our responsibility to students does not end with teaching them about photovoltaics or robotics. We know our graduates must be ready to step into leadership roles in industry, government and their own entrepreneurial efforts. Several hundred of the top engineering students from more than 50 universities across the country and Canada will attend the national conference. Our student council is ready to share ideas about promoting engineering and provide leadership development for this community of proven student leaders. The conference also is a forum to share the innovation of the Fulton Schools of Engineering and our commitment to take on the great challenges of our time. We invite you to join us in hosting this conference and support the engineering leaders of tomorrow. Paul C. Johnson Dean and Professor Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering Arizona State University

about naesc The National Association of Engineering Student Councils (NAESC), an organization of representatives from more than 50 ABET-accredited universities nationwide, is an active network that promotes improvements in engineering education, leadership ability, and continuous improvement in each branch. Some branches focus on cultivating the engineering community, building engineering traditions and becoming a focal point for communication between the School Administration and the Engineering Student Body. Engineering Student Councils attract high-calibre engineering students seeking to improve their leadership, communication and management skills. NAESC meets annually for a three-day national conference, and attending engineering student councils discuss issues related to their universities and councils while helping to promote engineering throughout the country. Representatives return to their universities with new excitement and ideas, ready to strengthen their respective engineering programs and meet the challenges and opportunities of the upcoming year. More than 300 students from approximately 50 schools attend the conference, representing the top engineering student-leaders in the nation.
