Greetings from the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs! Pirate Parents, Thank you for joining us for Family Weekend 2014! This year s schedule is filled with exciting opportunities for families to become more deeply involved and engaged through programming geared to ensure that parents become true partners during their student s time at East Carolina. We encourage you to take advantage of and experience all of the extraordinary opportunities that the University and Office of Parent and Family Programs provide for Pirate parents. With your participation and input, you will be supporting the University and your student s success, as well as enjoying events that better connect you with ECU. Please feel free to contact the Parent and Family Programs office for questions, concerns and help navigating the university. Basic paddling techniques will be taught and coaching will occur on the water as needed or requested. *Pre-registration required. 12:00pm-1:30pm Taste of ECU: Family Weekend Lunch Todd & West End Dining Halls Dine like a Pirate and enjoy tasty menus made just for ECU parents and families. Cash/Credit cards will be accepted onsite. 2:00pm-3:00pm ECU Master Classes Mendenhall Student Center 2:00pm: East Carolina University History (Room 222) 2:30pm: East Carolina University: The Leadership University (Room 244) 4:00pm-5:00pm Where to Live: Second Year Housing Options Mendenhall Student Center, Hendrix Theatre, Information to help guide students and parents about on and off campus housing options in their future years at ECU. 5:00pm-8:00pm Freeboot Friday Uptown Greenville Enjoy this free event offering live music and fun for the whole family with an inflatable Pirate Ship for children, arts and crafts, Uptown restaurant food samplings, and a beer and wine garden for those 21 and older. Head to Five Points Plaza (5th & Evans) in the Uptown District for Freeboot Friday. You won t want to miss a special appearance by the ECU Marching Band, and Dance Team. 6:30pm-8:30pm Family/Faculty Jazz Mixer* Croatan Building, Green Room Enjoy a live jazz performance, and feast on delectable deserts from our very own Chef Paul. Spend the evening getting to know other families, faculty and staff. *Tickets required- sold out.

7:00pm & 9:00pm The Lego Movie Hendrix Theatre, Mendenhall Student Center Join the Student Activities Board for a FREE night at the movies! We will be showing the hit Lego Movie the story of an ordinary Lego construction worker, thought to be the prophesied Special, is recruited to join a quest to stop an evil tyrant from gluing the Lego universe into eternal stasis. 9:00pm-11:00pm Pirate Underground: Bowling & Billiards Mendenhall Student Center, Ground Level Looking for good clean fun and entertainment? You and your family members are invited to gather and enjoy FREE bowling and billiards. Saturday, August 30, 2014 9:00pm-12:00pm Family Weekend Canoe/Kayak Trip Student Recreation Center This trip is intended to be an experience for family members to enjoy the beautiful Tar River together. Basic paddling techniques will be taught and coaching will occur on the water as needed or requested. *Pre-registration required. 10:30am-12:30pm Pirate Alumni Legacy Brunch Great Rooms, Mendenhall Student Center Families with two or more generations of Pirates including a current student are invited to this event recognizing tradition and loyalty to East Carolina. In addition to a catered meal, the event will include a pinning ceremony, remarks from featured alumni and university officials, and a family photo area. *Pre-registration required. 1:00pm-3:00pm Family Weekend Check-in Cynthia s Lounge, Mendenhall Student Center 1:00pm 2:45 pm Greek Life Recruitment Convocation Wright Auditorium If your student is participating in Panhellenic sorority recruitment, please plan to join us for Recruitment Convocation. You will learn more about the Panhellenic community, the recruitment process, and hear a little about the Panhellenic chapters at ECU. The Greek Life staff will hold a session during that time just for parents and families.

On-going Weekend Activities Campus Recreation and Wellness Center 8:00 am-10:00pm Friday, Saturday & Sunday Come enjoy a variety of recreational opportunities through Campus Recreation & Wellness including the state-of-the-art Student Recreation Center (SRC) during Family Weekend. The facility includes basketball/ volleyball courts, a fitness area, racquetball courts, indoor and outdoor swimming pool and running track. Family Weekend participants may have up to three visitors enter the facility for free. Additional passes may be purchased at the SRC Customer Services desk for $5 each North Recreation Complex Relax and enjoy one of the finest outdoor recreation areas on a college campus in the nation. The facility features eight lighted multi-purpose playing fields, a sandy beach area, beach volleyball courts, disc golf course, walking/jogging trails, outdoor fitness equipment, a lake, and an Odyssey Challenge Course. The boathouse will be open from 2:00pm 9:00pm on Friday and 12:00pm-9:00pm on Saturday and Sunday. Campus Dining Options West End and Todd Dining Halls 10:00 am until 10:00 pm Destination 360 in Mendenhall Student Center (Chick Fil A, Panda Express, Bleecker Street Café ) 11:00am until Midnight Starbucks at Joyner Library 10:30am until 8:00pm (Saturday) 1:00pm until Midnight (Sunday) Dowdy Student Stores 8:00am until 5:00pm (Friday) 9:00am until 6:00pm (Saturday) Central Ticket Office 8:00am until 5:00pm (Friday) 1:00pm until 5:00pm (Saturday)

GAME DAY INFORMATION Admission All fans entering Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium must have a valid ticket for admission unless they are younger than two years of age (and don t occupy a seat). An attendant will scan the barcode located on your ticket with a hand-held ticket scanner. To expedite this process, please make sure each person in your party presents his or her ticket individually to the attendant. Game Day Assistance Any ticket issue on game day can be brought to the Minges Coliseum Box Office located to the west of Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. Game Times All game dates and times are subject to change. ECU will publicize any game date and/or time changes. Ticket refunds will not be made because of change in schedule or kickoff time. Gates All stadium gates open two hours prior to kickoff. Pass-Out Checks There is no re-admittance policy in effect at Dowdy- Ficklen Stadium. Will Call Will Call is located at the outside windows at Minges Coliseum. Identification is required before tickets will be released. Artificial Noisemakers are not permitted in the stadium Alcoholic Beverages are strictly prohibited within the stadium per North Carolina Statues. Bagwell Field Regulations No one is allowed on the playing field during or after the game without credentials. Fans may be ejected and are subject to arrest for throwing any objects within the stadium. Banners/Flags must be pre-approved by calling 252-737-4669. Containers/Coolers No outside containers (cans, plastic bottles, etc.), coolers or food items are permitted in Dowdy Ficklen Stadium. Conduct The management of Dowdy- Ficklen Stadium reserves the right to eject patrons from the stadium for intoxication, drug use, foul or offensive language or any other conduct which is not conducive to a family atmosphere. Smoking Smoking is permitted in the open areas underneath the North and South stands and the open concourse area beneath the upper deck seating of Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. Smoking is not permitted in the seating areas, stairwells, restrooms or any enclosed area of the stadium. Stadium Entry/Inspection Anyone entering the stadium is subject to having his or her bag, pocketbook, camera bag, etc., inspected by staff security. No bag larger than 10-by-10-by-10 inches or backpacks will be allowed. Entry may be refused to individuals failing to allow inspections. Strollers Strollers are not allowed in the stands, but fans may check them at the customer service tent across from the club/ upper level elevators inside Gate 7 and at a second location across from Gate 2. Umbrellas Umbrellas are not permitted in Dowdy-Ficklen. Customer Service Customer service booths are located at Gates 2 & 7. Gate Information Please enter the stadium through the gate indicated on your ticket. Stadium gates open two hours prior to kick-off. Pre-Game Excitement Teams take Bagwell Field for pregame warm-ups approximately one hour prior to game time. Pregame festivities, including the Marching Pirates and the rousing team entrance, begin approximately 30 minutes prior to kickoff. Restrooms Restrooms are located throughout the stadium. Porta-johns are located in the parking lots for use prior to and after the game. All restrooms are handicapped accessible in Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium. Severe Weather Threat In the event the game is halted due to threat of severe weather conditions, fans should calmly exit the stadium in an orderly fashion. Police and ushers will provide instructions upon exiting. Minges Coliseum will be open for your convenience. Fans must have their ticket stubs to be readmitted to the stadium.

Helpful Parking Information Parking for main campus events is available beginning at 4:00pm on Friday, August 29th. Please abide by all posted parking guidelines and regulations. If you arrive prior to 4:00pm on Friday, please park in a metered spot. The parking lots surrounding the football stadium are reserved for season ticket holders that purchase the spaces and tailgate packages for the entire season. A Family Weekend shuttle will be operating on game day. Game Day Park and Ride Shuttle The Park and Ride Lot is located on the Health Sciences Campus and may be reached using the address: 100 Health Sciences Drive Greenville, NC 27834 Park and ride passes are $5 per person and must be pre-purchased online or at the Central Ticket Office. The Central Ticket Office will be open 1:00pm-5:00pm on Saturday, August 30th. *Passes will NOT be available for purchase at the Park and Ride Lot. *PLEASE NOTE: Post-Game Shuttles will pick up behind Dowdy-Ficklen Stadium at 14th Street
