Friday, September 28 Noon Jummah Prayer Room 216, Moseley Center The Religious & Spiritual Life Office is happy to provide space and arrange leadership for Jummah prayer if requested. 1:30 p.m. Family Weekend Golf Tournament hosted by the Phoenix Club The Challenge Golf Course The tournament will be a shotgun start. Entry fee includes greens fee, cart, beverages and awards. Participants should plan to spend most of the afternoon on the golf course. Check with your student about his/her class schedule, as participation is not an excused absence. (Entry fee is $125 per family team. Registration form included in this brochure. (Include your $25 family registration fee with your ticket order.) This fee covers breakfast on Saturday and Sunday, entertainment, and other programs offered throughout the weekend. 3:00-8:00 p.m. Koury Center Open Recreation Campus Recreation, Koury Center Your family weekend nametag is your ticket to fun and fitness! Visit Koury Center, which houses Beck Pool and the Stewart Fitness Center, including a cardio-fitness room, free weight room, five racquetball courts and an aerobics studio. Check at the Campus Recreation desk for more information. Children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian and may not use the cardio-fitness room. 4:00-6:00 p.m. Hospitality Center Hearth Lounge, Moseley Center The Elon Parents Council invites all families to stop by for refreshments and a moment of rest between activities. Special Events for Grandparents 6:00 p.m. Shabbat Service/Kiddush McKinnon Hall, Moseley Center The Elon Hillel group welcomes all Jewish students and their families to a brief Shabbat service and Kiddush. This will be a good chance to meet other Jewish students and families before heading out to dinner in the area. 7:00 and 8:15 p.m. Collage Concert Yeager Recital Hall, Center for the Arts Tickets are available for $10 each at the Registration Area on a first-come, first-served basis. The Department of Performing Arts will present an exciting collage of entertainment, song and dance from the Broadway stage. This is a wonderful presentation by our talented students! 7:30 p.m. The Exonerated by Jessica Blank and Erik Jensen Law Library, Elon University School of Law Admission is free. Elon Law presents its first theatrical event directed and performed by members of the student body. The Exonerated is a magnificent collage of monologues written by two actors who traveled across the country recording the stories of former death-row inmates who were eventually proven innocent and released. 8:30 p.m. The Music Department Faculty Concert Whitley Auditorium Faculty members from the Elon University Music Department return to the stage for Family Weekend. This program has been a big hit since it began in 1999, so you may want to arrive early! Come and enjoy a great show.
