This will involve: Assessment, treatment and rehabilitation to support recovery. Collaboration with families, whanau and significant others. KEY TASKS 1. To offer Psychological Assessment to consumers Psychological Assessment Differential diagnosis Specialist assessment Neuropsychological assessments Psychometric Risk assessment, in conjunction with MDT 2. Offer Psychological Interventions to consumers. EXPECTED OUTCOMES Provide selected initial assessment as part of Star team MDT. Provide psychological assessments as soon as required including psychometric assessment Assessment is to be comprehensive and include risk management. Document assessment and liaise as appropriate with relevant parties, e.g. STaR team MDT, General Practitioner, family/whanau On the basis of assessment, provide follow up or refer to other team members for their specialist skills. On the basis of assessment, provide specialist Psychological intervention and treatment as indicated. Provide treatment plan and implement with appropriate members of MDT. Review and evaluate treatment. Refer to community psychologist on discharge if required. Document treatment, and liaise as appropriate with relevant parties including community team. Provide specialist reports as required. 3. Function as a team member of MDT. Attend referral meetings and contribute as appropriate. Participate in team clinical reviews. Participate in policy/quality meetings, and service development planning. Liaise with other team members to provide a quality assured service. 4. To provide group therapy aimed at skill acquisition or specialist treatment 5. To promote the professional discipline within the team. Co-ordination with MDT to plan and develop skills acquisition focused group or treatment group. To facilitate or co-facilitate groups. To review and evaluate the group In consultation with the MDT provide placement and supervision for Psychology students/interns. N.B. Supervision can only be provided by the senior psychologist with at least 3 years experience since qualification. Provide Psychological consultation and supervision to MDT in clinical reviews, joint assessments and therapy interventions. Actively participate in WDHB In-Service education. 6. Ensure ongoing professional development To comply with the requirements of the HPCA Act and to seek professional advice where indicated. 7. Service delivery in accordance with Mental Health, and Waitemata Health s Mission Statement and Objectives. 8. Senior Psychologist Supervision of Staff Research and Evaluation Consultation Education and Training Service Development Attend regular supervision with a senior clinician as appropriate to the needs of the psychologist. Identify professional development needs and attend education and training opportunities which target such needs. Participate in research programmes as appropriate. Complete orientation and mandatory training as stipulated in the training and Development and Waitemata Health Policies. Mission Statement and values are known and supported. PERSON SPECIFICATION POSITION TITLE: Minimum Preferred Qualification Experience NZ Registered Clinical Psychologist A Degree in Psychology Post Graduate Diploma of Clinical Psychology/ or Doctorate or equivalent Interest in Older Adults mental health. Relevant experience/ training in the mental health field. Additional specialist training Experience in the older adult mental health field preferred but not essential Experience in group therapy preferred, but not essential. Experience working within a multidisciplinary team. Experience in care co-ordination preferred but not essential Skills/Knowledge/Behaviour Assessment skills Able to provide specialised interventions including: neuropsychological and psychometric testing, and evidence based therapies.
