What are selection visits? Selection Visits allow you to choose your own doctor. There will be additional charges set by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. How can I request for selection visits? Complete and submit Selection Visits Request Form to the Registration Desk. How can I change or cancel my selection visit appointment? You may change or cancel your selection visit by completing and submitting Selection Visits Change or Cancellation Request Form to the Registration Desk. What are the qualifications for selections visits doctors? - 10 or more years of experience after acquiring a medical doctor board certification in their specialty - 15 or more years of experience after acquiring a dentistry certification Selection visits will be abolished beginning from 2017. Are there any health insurance benefits from selection visits? You are responsible for all hospital expenses. You will make a payment based on Additional Fee Categories and Fee Calculation Criteria set by the Ministry of Health and Welfare. Can I change from general visits to selection visits? Patients with appointments receive priority. Please be informed that walk-in visit patients may not be able to see a doctor depending on our appointment status. If you are bringing CDs with images from hospitals, please arrive earlier than your appointment time and submit your images to the Image Registration Desk or Self-Image Registration Machine on the 1st floor. Please submit your physician referral letter or medical records from other hospitals to our staff at your outpatient department. When you arrive at your outpatient department, please inform our staff about your appointment at the Registration Desk. For your next visit, please bring your Outpatient Instructions or Receipt. We are providing an appointment reminder service via SMS one day before your scheduled date.

Self-service Automated Machine Bill Payment (Get Your Prescription Here) You must pay first prior to visiting your doctor and taking medical exams. We recommend you using our Self-service Automated Machine for your hospital bill payment and getting your prescription. Location: - In front of the Registration Payment Desk on the 1st and 2nd floor in the main hospital - In front of the Registration Payment desk on the 1st floor in the Children s Hospital Hours of Operation: Monday Friday, 8:30 am - 5:30 pm Payment can be made using cash or credit cards. Post Payment Service (Easy Pass) Easy Pass is a quick and convenient payment service. You can register your credit card information in our system and receive medical services including a doctor s visit and exams without payment. You will pay for your hospital bill after you receive all your medical services. Your personal information will be protected by a high-tech security program. Inpatient Admission Process Patient Room Assignment There are VIP Rooms, single rooms, 2-bed rooms, 4-bed rooms, 5-bed rooms and 6-bed rooms. Your room will be assigned depending on the room status on the day of your admission. Please be informed that you may not be able to choose your room due to the unavailability.

MEDICAL CENTER What to Bring to the Hospital Toiletries, cups, slippers, bedding items for guardians and other personal items (available at the medical supplies store or convenience store in the hospital) Meal Times Breakfast 7:30 am Lunch 12:30 pm Dinner 5:30 pm If you want to change your meal, please notify your nurse at least 2 hours before the meal time. Visiting Hours General Wards: 2 times/day, 12:30 pm - 2:20 pm & 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm - Please refrain from visiting patients after 8 pm for their recovery. - Children, pregnant women and the elderly are recommended not to enter patient rooms due to their weak immune system, which put them at high risk of getting infections. - Please avoid any behaviors that might disturb other patients in the room such as singing loudly, cooking, playing card games, etc. Intensive Care Unit (ICU): 2 times/day 10:30 am - 11:00 am & 7:00 pm - 7:30 pm - Visiting is limited to one person for each patient at a time; Visiting in rotation is allowed. - Children under 14 are not allowed due to the risk of infection. - All visitors must wash their hands upon entry to the unit. - Bringing food, cooking, skin contact with the patient or handling medical equipment are strongly prohibited for patient safety. - Please do not use a phone because it may have an adverse effect on the medical devices. Protection of Personal Information KNUMC is NOT registered as a medical institution which intends to attract foreign patients with the Minister of Health and Welfare in accordance with Article 27-2(1) of MEDICAL SERVICE ACT. Therefore, foreign patients may receive a V.A.T refund on their cosmetic surgery expenses. However KNUH is registered. You may submit the "Certificate of selling medical service for overseas patient" issued after treatment to the operator of a refund point by any of the methods shown below. 1. Refund at airport(port) of departure 1) Airport(port) with refund point in the bonded zone : Submit to refund counter or KIOSK 2) Airport(port) with no refund counter(muan,yangyang,daegu airport and Pyeongtaek,Jeju port, etc.): Put the certificate of selling medical service for overseas patient into mailbox next to customs with Consent to collection, usage and disclosure of personal information Downtown refund(total medical expenses less than 2 mil. won: Submit the certificate of selling medical service for overseas patient and Consent to collection, usage and disclosure of personal information. In such case, refund counter operator may request a guarantee VAT refunds are valid only if the Certificate is submitted at one of the tax refund locations and depart the Republic of Korea within 3 months of receiving medical treatment.
