The Teen Health Centre s Eating Disorder Team Meet the Teen Health Centre s eating disorder team! The team develops an individualized program so that clients may meet some or all of these staff members. Please call (519) 253-8481 to schedule an appointment. The team can usually contact and see clients within a week of their call. Jennifer White Jennifer graduated from the MSW program at Wayne State University in 2009. She was thrilled to be able to return to WECHC, Teen Health, after interning at the Centre during her graduate studies. Jennifer has become a passionate clinician in the eating disorders field. She is a certified family-based therapy clinician and prides herself on staying current in best practices. She is a member of the Academy of Eating Disorders Patient-Carer Committee, the Ontario Community Outreach Program for Eating Disorders Program Evaluation Committee, and the International Association for Eating Disorder Professionals. Jennifer enjoys spending time with her family, running, reading, and travelling.

Trisha Wilson, RD, CEDRD Trisha Wilson, registered dietitian, earned a Bachelor of Science and a Bachelor of Education from the University of Windsor. She then went on to complete dietetics coursework at Wayne State University and dietetic internships in Windsor and Michigan. Trisha has worked as a registered dietitian and member of the eating disorder team at Teen Health since 2010. In 2015, Trisha became certified by the International Association of Eating Disorders Professionals (iaedp) as a certified eating disorders registered dietitian (CEDRD). Her years of experience in client care, extensive continuing education and training, and supervision by a CEDRD earned her this credential. Trisha is a member of iaedp, the International Federation of Eating Disorder Dietitians, the Ontario Community Outreach Program for Eating Disorders, and the Eating Disorders Association of Canada, actively participating in nutrition special interest groups. Trisha has received training in family-based treatment for adolescents with anorexia nervosa and works with the team in various capacities to implement this treatment. Trisha provides compassionate, client-centered care following a Health at Every Size approach. She is available to provide nutrition assessments and nutrition counselling to all Teen Health clients. She works individually with clients to design a nutrition plan that is unique and tailored to their needs.

Ashley Marchini RN (EC) NP-PHC Ashley was born and raised in Windsor, where she attended the University of Windsor s BScN program and completed her last semester abroad in Jonkoping, Sweden. Upon completion of her undergraduate degree, she worked in various sectors, including acute care, community and public health, and private practice. She attained a master s degree in nursing and a primary health care nurse practitioner certificate in 2012. She has since been working at the Teen Health Centre, is passionate about providing the best care possible to her clients, and sits on the provincial steering committee for the Ontario Community Outreach Program for Eating Disorders. She resides in Windsor with her two rescued dogs, practices yoga, and is an avid traveler.

Dr. Andrea Steen Dr. Andrea Steen, born and raised in Windsor, Ontario, began her nursing education at St. Clair College s nursing program, graduating in 1975. She went on to earn her Bachelor of Human Kinetics degree from the University of Windsor and obtained a master s degree in science from the University of Waterloo. Then, Dr. Steen attended medical school at McMaster University; she completed her residency in family medicine at Ottawa Civic Hospital from 1989 to 1991 and became CCFP certified. Dr. Steen returned to Windsor in 1991 and opened her family practice, which has been in operation for 22 years. She is currently the vice president of Medical Affairs at Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare. For the past 22 years, Dr. Steen has worked as one of the senior physicians at the Teen Health Centre, where she treats clients with eating disorders. As Southwestern Ontario s leading specialist in eating disorders, Dr. Steen is a guest lecturer at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Windsor and is a frequent speaker to many groups in our region and across the country. Adding to her impressive accomplishments, she was recently awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Windsor, as well as the winner of St. Clair College s 2013 Alumni of Distinction Award in the Health and Science Category.

Dr. Joslyn Warwaruk MD, MFCP Dr. Joslyn Warwaruk graduated from the University of Western Ontario in 1990. She interned in London, Ontario and has worked in Windsor since 1991. Dr. Warwaruk worked in emergency medicine for 10 years, teen health for 23 years, and has been an active staff member at WRH for 26 years, including 16 years as a hospitalist. She has served on the Essex County Medical Executive and was appointed as president from 2012 2014. Dr. Warwaruk has also served as co-coordinator for year IV at the Schulich School of Medicine- Windsor site from 2011 to 2015. She also sits on various committees and is an active participant in medical education as an adjunct professor. Dr. Warwaruk has been working with eating disorders for 10 years, alongside colleagues at the Teen Health Centre and psychiatric colleagues in the community. When working with patients with eating disorders, she ensures that their medical health is maintained. Her role is to care for the patient s medical and psychological needs. In addition to monitoring lab work and vitals, Dr. Warwaruk routinely assesses their physical and mental health, while managing their medications. She works closely with the team, which includes a dietician, counselor, nurse practitioner and nurse. Together, the team ensures the highest quality of care for all patients.

Jennifer Badaoui MSW, RSW Jennifer is a registered social worker who has been a member of the WECHC Teen Health team since 2013. In addition to having a Bachelor of Social Work and Bachelor of Education, Jennifer graduated from the Master of Social Work program at the University of Windsor in 2008. Prior to joining the Teen Health team, Jennifer had worked in the areas of domestic violence and children s mental health, providing individual, group, and family therapy to a variety of populations. In order to continue supporting clients and their families in the area of eating disorders, Jennifer received training in family-based treatment for adolescents with anorexia nervosa and also received training in cognitive behavioural therapy. Furthermore, she is a member of the Ontario Community Outreach Program for Eating Disorders. Jennifer s approach values compassion, collaboration, and body acceptance.
