Kapila, our CMD wishes all our readers and eir families a very Happy, Prosperous and Healy New Year 2016. May e New Year usher in new opportunities, triumphs and hope and may everyone's dreams come true. A New Year function was organized on 1 January 2016 at our Corporate Office. At e outset, one minute silence was observed in e memory of our departed colleagues Mr. Ajit Kumar Sharma, Mr. H. S. Verma, Mr. Om Prakash Sanwal, Mr. Chandramouli M, Mr. Gerald Kirae Wachira, Mr. Vijay Setia and Mr. M. K. Pandey who left us for eir heavenly abode during e year 2015. 1 January being an auspicious birday for some, our colleagues Mr. J. S. Yadav, Mr. R. K. Jolly, Mr. Chandan Basu, Mr. Mukesh Kumar, Mr. Pankaj Kumar Khan, Mr. Veer Singh, Mr. Pranayjit Chakraborty, Ms. Geeta Shukla and Mr. Rohit Kumar Malik were wished a Very Happy Birday. Lucky ones to get be wishes on such a mass scale! After e preliminaries, our Presidents, Mr. N. C. Saxena, Mr. A. D. Narain, Mr. N. K. Sinha, Mr. Amitava Basu and Mr. Prashant Kapila, addressed e gaering. While touching upon e prevailing economic scenario in our country, ey shared eir perspective and cautioned at e near future may be more competitive and challenging. Therefore, in order to maintain our continual grow, we need to focus on work planning, adherence to planned schedules and aim to provide co effective, efficient and time bound services. Thereafter, our CMD Mr. K. K. Kapila addressed e gaering. The highlights of his address appear in is Newsletter. The closing event was e Award Ceremony. There were a total of 19 recipients of e various awards. The citations were read out by Mr. Prashant Kapila and e awards given away by Mr. K. K. Kapila. Our heartie congratulations to e award winners!! The surprise package of e evening was recital of Guru Stotram xq#czzã xq#foz.kq% xq#nszoks egs'oj%a xq#%lk{kkr~ ijczã rles Jhxqjos ue%aa by Miss Keira Kay Kapila, daughter of Mr. Prashant Kapila!! Her Sanskrit pronunciation was perfect!! As part of e advocacy campaign, e 27 Road Safety Week was observed roughout e country from 11 to 17 January 2016 to highlight and emphasize e need for safe roads. The eme for is year's road safety week was "Road Safety - Time for Action". Many road safety activities were undertaken by e concerned agencies, transport auorities, voluntary organisations and oer akeholders and also by public at large. The Road Safety Week was launched by Mr. Nitin Gadkari, Hon'ble Minier for Road Transport and Highways on 11 January 2016. Medical camps for heal check-up of drivers and refresher training programmes to update drivers about road safety rules, various road signs and fir-aid service, etc. were organized. IRF India Chapter alongwi MoRT&H organized a 2-day Seminar on 14-15 January 2016 at India International Centre, New Delhi. During ese two days, topics like Safer Roads Removal of Blackspots, Role of Enforcement, Role of ITS in Road Safety, Trauma Care, Strengening of Licensing Regime, Road Safety Education and Vehicular Safety were discussed. The Road Safety Week was a great success. Urban Infraructure Division of our Company has successfully completed World Bank funded, Digital Topographical Mapping and Integrated Strategic Urban Development Plan (ISUDP) for ree cluers in Kenya under Kenya Municipal Program of Government of Kenya. HIGHLIGHTS OF CMD's SPEECH Professional receipt upto 30 November 2015 was at Rs. 183 crores and expected to close e year at Rs.300 crores. This has been possible due to e number of ongoing projects currently we are handling 94 domeic and 38 international projects. Acknowledged and appreciated exceedingly good work done by some of e teams. However, e performance was not uniformly consient across e Organization and it was observed at ere were lapses on account of fulfilling contractual provisions / meeting technical specifications / applying design parameters and eablished principles. As a result, time and quality of delivery to e Client suffered a setback in certain cases. Emphasized on everyone to art e New Year wi a pledge to discharge duties and obligations towards e Organization wi due diligence, full sincerity and in compliance wi contractual provisions, technical specification and laid down procedures in respect of e jobs undertaken by each individual. Technical teams of Road Segments should remain updated wi IRC Codes, processes and MoRT&H Technical circulars. The same is also applicable to technical teams in Railways, Airports, Water Resources, Urban Infraructure Divisions, etc. To meet e challenges, competition and dynamic market environment, it is necessary to conantly upgrade skills and work towards enhancing multitasking abilities. The organization, to remain competitive, mu be lean and meaningful to derive optimal value from its human resources. PROJECT NEWS Completion of World Bank Funded Urban Planning Project in Kenya Mombasa County Digital Topographical Mapping,Integrated Strategic Urban Development Plan (ISUDP) and Capital Invement Plan (CIP) Mombasa - 2035 was successfully completed and handed over to e County Government of Mombasa in October 2015, calling for an invement of Ksh. 6.64 billion in initial ree years (2016-19) in key projects for facelift of e city. He ated at all leaders mu participate in planning process and akeholders of all sectors to be involved to make is Plan effective and successful, since, is plan is for citizens of Mombasa. At e end he mentioned at we all have to work togeer to make Mombasa Kwanza (Mombasa as Number 1 City). Official launch of is project is scheduled on 1 February 2016, where county government will officially handover e plan to e lands department for implementation. OBITUARY Wi profound grief and sorrow, we inform e sad demise of our colleague, Mr. M. K. Pandey on e night of 31 December 2015 / 01 January 2016. Mr. Pandey was working as a Resident Engineer at Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (Habibganj-Itarsi) project site. He is survived by his wife, a son and two daughters. We deeply mourn e dea of Mr. M. K. Pandey and convey our heartfelt condolences to e bereaved family. We pray to e Almighty at his noble soul be blessed wi eternal peace.
