Buildings located in LADWP service area are covered by the ordinance Verify whether your property is covered at: h<p://navigatela.lacity.org/navigatela/ Exempted Buildings Single family homes, Duplexes, ResidenAal Hotels Sound-stages, TV & Film ProducAon FaciliAes Buildings regulated by the State or Federal Government Exempted for that Compliance Year Vacant for enare calendar year, with no CerAficate of Occupancy Vacant for enare calendar year due to renovaaon DemoliAon permit issued No energy or water service for enare calendar year
Compliance Dates: Benchmarking Building Size Benchmarking Due Date 100,000sf July 1, 2017* 50,000sf April 1, 2018 20,000sf April 1, 2019 Square footage includes structured parking area All covered buildings will have to conanue to benchmark whole building data annually every April 1 st ager their first compliance year
Current Non-Compliance Penal%es Failure to comply with or misrepresent any material fact in relaaon to the ordinance will be considered unlawful Non-compliance will result in an order to comply, and further acaon by the Department of Building & Safety Summary Sta%s%cs and Compliance Status by property address will be made publicly available
Annual Energy & Water Benchmarking Annual Requirements Track whole-building electricity, gas, and water data If you are already tracking whole-building data in ESPM, you do not need to request data from LADWP or So Cal Gas Enter past calendar year s whole-building data in to Energy Star Por[olio Manager (ESPM) Obtain an Energy Star Score For Your Property through ESPM* Complete a Benchmarking Report from Por[olio Manager Submit Benchmarking Report to the LADBS Public Database * Buildings not eligible for a score must sall benchmark and complete the Benchmarking Report
LA Specific Benchmarking Requirements: Energy Star PorYolio Manager Free, online tool, measures energy and water consumpaon and compares energy usage of similar building types Provides metrics for tracking NaAonwide Standard for Benchmarking CerAficaAon available for certain building types/scores
LA Specific Benchmarking Requirements: Parking Structured parking is included in the ordinance Buildings enarely dedicated to parking need to be benchmarked Parking is not eligible to earn a score, but should be reported with the associated building Add the gross floor area associated with parking to your new or exisang ESPM account
LA Specific Benchmarking Requirements: Water Water is not required in order to get a score in ESPM, but the ordinance requires whole building water data May need to be added to ESPM CerAfied Buildings
